Section Modulus calculation and optimization

AIM

To Use the Section from Hood design and calculate the Section Modulus using the formula

S = I/y

Where,

S = Section Modulus

I = Moment of Inertia

y = distance between the neutral axis and the extreme end of the object

PROCEDURE:

The data are collected from taking the master section using the mid plane

CONCLUSION

The above design, I have calculated the bending moment of the hood for front and side of it are shown above. First is the orginal one have created with between the outer panel and inner panel in that I calculated the max values are front is 1,777,014.124 & side is 524,282.105 . The other other bending moment is calculated are shown above the max values are front is 1,984,659.023 & side is 595,528.481. The comparing both the secound bending moment is higer sectional modulus. So, that will resist in high bending moment.
