1) Use the shortcut keys in Revit discussed in class to complete the following tasks and list them below
a. Using 3D model create a section box
b. To create similar doors and windows in a floor plan layout
c. To reduce the thickness of lines visible in plan views
d. To apply override settings to a floor in the model section view
e. To increase the range of visibility in a plan view
f. To select the previously selected items
g. To add annotations to the model views
h. To bring the model elements in line
i. To rotate the model elements
j. To move an object to another location
k. To copy a model element
l. To mirror an element about an axis
m. To create an array of model elements
Ans : The shortcut keys to complete goven tasks are given below:
a. Using 3D model create a section box : BX
b. To create similar doors and windows in a floor plan layout : CS
c. To reduce the thickness of lines visible in plan views : TL
d. To apply override settings to a floor in the model section view : EOD
e. To increase the range of visibility in a plan view : VR
f. To select the previously selected items : CTRL + <-
g. To add annotations to the model views : DI
h. To bring the model elements in line : AL
i. To rotate the model elements : RO
j. To move an object to another location : MV
k. To copy a model element : MO
l. To mirror an element about an axis : MM
m. To create an array of model elements : AR
In case if any shortcut we forget, we can use KS to search required shortcuts.
2) Using Revit and the project used from week 6 to 8 prepare a schedule for the following
a. Walls
b. Doors
c. Windows
d. Material – Concrete/Wood
AIM : To prepare schedules for walls, doors, window and material (concrete or wood).
TOOLS USED : View, Schedule.
PROCEDURE :
1. Open the archiecture file of week 7 project and click on view tab and select the sheets/boundaries tool.

2. In the dialogue box that appears, select the wall to create wall schedule.

3. In the schedule properties dialogue box, click on required information to be added in the sheets of the particular element.(count, cost, volume etc)

4. Click on ok to create sheet with required elements.
RESULT : The required sheets are created.

WINDOWS SHEET :

DOORS SHEET :
3) Using Revit Calculate area and volume of each room in the model with appropriate room tags applied to each room. Prepare a schedule report for area and volume of each room.
AIM : To create room tags and prepare schedule report for area and volume of each room.
TOOLS USED :Architecture tab, Room seperator, room tag,View tab, schedule, schedule property.
PROCEDURE :
1. Firstly open the architecture file and clcik on room seperator in architecture tab and seperate the rooms.

2. Then click on room tag and tg each room with unique name.

3. Click on schedule in view tab, in the dialogue box that appears click on rooms and click ok

4. In the schedule property dialogue box, select the required parameters to be listed in schedule and click ok.

RESULT : The schedule for rooms that are tagged in architectural model is successfully created.

4) Using the same schedule using the unit cost rate for materials available in the internet, prepare total cost of materials used in the project
a. Total Cost of Materials
b. Individual Material Take off
AIM : To create schedule for preparing total cost of materials used in project.
TOOLS USED : View, Schedule, Schedule property, Calculated.
PROCEDURE :
1. Click on schedules in view tab and create a schedule for wall.

2. Include the parameters which will be useful in calculating cost rate for materials and click ok.

3. Now, use Calculated tool to create formula for creating formula to calculate Total cost.
Total cost= (Volume/1CF)*Cost.

4. Similarly prepare the schedule for required elements.
RESULT : The schedule is prepared for total cost of materials and individual material take off.

5) Using the concept of Visual Programming discussed in class, list a flowchart for the following scenario
a. How to decide framings for a structure using Dynamo ?
b. If there is no water coming from the pipes
c. If request for money from client has been declined for the project
