Design And Assembly Yacht:
Objective:
- To design and model the American Yacht using solid.
- Modelling each part of the American Yacht.
- Assembling all modelled parts to get the yacht.
- Rendering the American Yacht by applying the required decals as well as the appearance
- Build the assembled yacht as a photorealistic render in the environment by applying accurate scenes.
Introduction:
- Solidworks is a mechanical 3D CAD (Computer Aided Design) Software.
- It is used in designing and modelling a wide range of components and parts in realistic appearances and scenes.
- It makes it easier for the user to model complicated shapes parts and components through different commands and tools.
- It also provides a variety of environments as well as colour pallets to make the final model more realistic.
- It also has its render tool that provides us with the final render image of the constructed model.
- Design methodology:

Major components of American Yacht:
- Blueprint Setup
- The Propellor
- The Radar
- The Hull
- The Garage Door
- The Superstructure
- The Seats
- The Radar Mast
Explanation of Feature Tools:
- Plane:
- To draw the section view of the parts.
- To draw the particular portion of a part.
- Sketch:
- To draw the part by applying the commands and smart dimensions at a particular plane.
- Fillet: Create a round internal or external face along one or more edges on a solid or surface feature.
- Champer: To create a tapper surface on the components' edges.
- Convert Entities: Converts selected edges and sketch entities into identical entities by
- projecting them onto the sketch plane or face.
- Offset Entities: Offset one or more entities by a specified distance.
- Mirror Entities: Produce mirror entity of the given entity along a mirror line.
- Shell: Produce cavity volume inside of any solid body with specified wall thickness.
- Extrude Bose/Base: Extrude or extend a surface in one or two directions to create a solid shape.
- Revolve Boss/Base: To produce a solid feature by revolving a sketch entity in a direction.
- Extrude Cut: Removes material either in one or two directions.
- Revolve Cut: It removes the material from a revolved solid body in one or two directions.
- Swept Boss/Base: It creates a solid body around the sketch profile along an open or closed path.
- Loft: It is used to create a complex shape between the multiple profiles and guide curves.
- Dome: It creates a hemispherical shape on the face or surface of a body of a specified radius.
- Trim: It is used to delete the undesired entity without distorting the other parts.
- Pattern: It is used to produce copies of an entity along a certain path.
- Projected Curve: It projects a curve on the model or surface and a combination of 2D curves to get a 3D curve.
- Split: It is used to cut two intersection surfaces or bodies along a given intersection point.
- Appearance: Appling different materials, paints, and colours to make the component look realistic.
- Sketch Picture: It is a sketch tool used to attach a predefined image as a reference to draw the required design.
DESCRIPTION:
- Blueprint setup:
- To begin the design, the blueprint is the foremost part. It helps in crafting the basic structure to raise it to the final model.
- Blueprint of any model provides a tracing path for designing any model.
- Requirement: predefined blueprints
- Feature Tools: sketch picture.

- Propellor:
- It is a device with a rotating hub and radiating blades that are set at a pitch to form a helical spiral which, when rotated, exerts linear thrust upon a working fluid such as water or air.
- Sketch tools: Lines, spline, rectangle, trim.
- Feature Tools: Revolve, cut extrude, loft, fillet, Circular pattern.

- Radar:
- It is a device that is used as a detection system that uses radio waves to determine the distance(ranging), angle, and radial velocity of objects relative to the site.
- Sketch Tools: Lines, offset, circle, fillet.
- Feature Tools: Boss extrude, cut extrude, fillet, sketch pattern, mirror, split line.

- The Hull:
- A hull is the watertight body of a ship, boat, or flying boat. The hull may open at the top (such as a dinghy) or be fully or partially covered with a deck.
- Atop the deck may be a deckhouse and other superstructures, such as a funnel, derrick, or mast.
- Sketch Tools: Lines, circles, Fillets, rectangles, curves, points, offsets, curves, spline.
- Feature Tools: Boss Extrude, cut extrude, fillets, swept boss, loft boss, chamfer.
- Surface feature: Surface trim, surface extrude, surface extends, swept surface, shell, surface fill.

- Garage Door:
- Garage Doors are opening passages for garages that provide space for parking vehicles and storing different things that might be needed to repair vehicles and other home essentials.
- Sketch Tools: Lines, circles,
- Feature Tools: Shell, mirror, cut extrude, fillets, chamfers.

- Superstructure:
- the superstructure consists of the parts of the ship or a boat, including sailboats, fishing boats, passenger ships, and submarines, that project above her main deck.
- This does not usually include its masts or any armament turrets.
- Sketch Tools: Lines, circles, fillets, curves, splines.
- Surface tools: Surface extrude, surface cut, lofted surface, surface knit
- Feature Tools: Boss extrude, extrude cut, shell, fillets, swept boss, loft boss, chamfer.

- The Seats:
- There are three seats in this yacht: Front seat, Middle seat, and Rear seat.
- Seats are used for passengers’ sitting places also makes the yacht look fulfilled.
- Sketch Tools: Lines, circles, fillets, curves, splines.
- Surface Tools: Surface extrude, surface cut, lofted surface, surface knit.
- Feature Tools: Boss Extrude, cut extrude, fillets, swept boss, loft boss, chamfer.

- Radar mast:
- Its purposes include carrying sails, spars, and derricks, and giving necessary height to a navigation light, look-out position, signal yard, control position, radio aerial, or signal lamp.
- Large ships have several masts, with the size and configuration depending on the style of the ship.
- Sketch Tools: Lines, circles, arc
- Surface Tools:
- Feature Tools: Boss Extrude, cut extrude, fillets, swept boss, loft boss, chamfer.

Assembling of the yacht:
Now we assembled all the parts and after adding all materials and yacht looks perfectly great.

PHOTOREALISTIC RENDER:
It is the image of the model produced after applying decals, appearances, cameras, and scenes. Overall, it is defined as the outcome of all the commands and tools used to design the chopper in a desired surrounding with proper lighting and looks.

CONCLUSION:
Designing, assembling, and preparing the photorealistic rendering using Solidworks is completed.
