Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

1. Earthing, Light/Dome Light/Foot Selector/Limit Switches, Connecting Wires, Bulb-Tail Stop, Battery, Fuse, Buzzer-Horn, Ammeter, Ignition Coil - Transformer, Breaker-Switch & Capacitor, Starter Motor, Generator, Regulator, Spark Plug

2. Battery - It is used to store electrical energy in chemical form. When the needed battery can convert & provide chemical energy to electrical energy. Voltage & Current are two important aspects of battery.

Ignition Coil - It is based on the step-up transformer principle having primary & secondary winding and a core. The ignition Coil is used to provide high voltage to Stater which helps in starting the engine.

Generator - It is used to convert electrical power from mechanical power provided by the engine. The electrical power is used for charging the battery & providing current to accessories installed in the vehicle.

3. For a 10A load, a 13-15 Amps Fuse should suffice the work. 15 A is a standard fuse rated available in the market. The fuse ampere should be greater because a lesser ampere fuse will cause a frequent circuit break & a much higher rated will not be able to detect the fault.

4. Considering Hint, with 12V Battery a 50Ah 1-C battery will be preferred for approx an hour of backup (500/12=41.66A). Also, we can go for 100Ah 0.5C if more backup time is required.

5. Horn & Parking lamps (all accessories) are in parallel so they can be operated at the same voltage. Also, fault in one system doesn't affect others.

6. The ignition Coil & Breaker are in series so that high voltage can be generated for input to the distributor.
