Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
- ans.1
GENERATOT- Electric power is generated by using AC . It convert mechanical energy into electric energy
JUNCTION BLOCK- A junction block, or terminal block, provides a convenient point for all wiring in a vehicle. This central location helps provide electrical power to various systems in a tidy manner. Terminal blocks prevent shorts, eliminate wire splicing and also conserve panel space
CURRENT AND VOLTAGE RAGULATOR- In voltage regulators, the current is varied to achieve the required voltage level, while current regulators usually involve variations in voltage/resistance to achieve the required current output. As such, while it is possible, it is usually difficult to regulate voltage and current at the same time in a circuit
FUSE- An EV fuse contains a sacrificial link that breaks during an overload or short circuit scenario to protect the rest of the electrical system. These fuses feature a variety of mounting options, from cartridge to bolt tag mount.
BATTERY- A Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery is a type of rechargeable battery used in electric vehicles and a number of portable electronics. They have a higher energy density than typical lead-acid or nickel-cadmium rechargeable batteries. This means that battery manufacturers can save space, reducing the overall size of the battery pack.
Lithium is also the lightest of all metals. However, lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries contain no lithium metal, they contain ions. For those wondering what an ion is, an ion is a an atom or molecule with an electric charge caused by the loss or gain of one or more electrons
ANS.2
FUSE-
PURPOSE- The fuse breaks the circuit if a fault in an appliance causes too much current to flow. This protects the wiring and the appliance if something goes wrong. The fuse contains a piece of wire that melts easily.
WORKING- An EV fuse contains a sacrificial link that breaks during an overload or short circuit scenario to protect the rest of the electrical system. These fuses feature a variety of mounting options, from cartridge to bolt tag mount If a high amount of Electricity is passed from the Electric Fuse, there is a production of heat which causes the Fuse to melt which leads to the opening of the Circuit and the blockage of Current
BATTERY-
PURPUSE- Lithium-ion batteries are currently used in most electric vehicles because of their high energy per unit mass relative to other electrical energy storage systems. They also have a high power-to-weight ratio, high energy efficiency, good high-temperature performance, and low self-discharge
WORKING- Battery electric vehicles, or BEVs, use electricity stored in a battery pack to power an electric motor and turn the wheels. When depleted, the batteries are recharged using grid electricity, either from a wall socket or a dedicated charging unit. ... The amount of pollution produced depends on how the electricity is made
GENERATOR-
PURPOSE- Some varieties of HEV use an internal combustion engine to turn an electrical generator, which either recharges the vehicle's batteries or directly powers its electric drive motors; this combination is known as a motor–generator.
WORKING- When you release the accelerator or apply the brake, the car's motor becomes a generator, converting the kinetic energy of the car's motion into electrical current, recharging the battery. This is typically referred to as regenerative braking.
ANS.3
Fuse is equal to 125% of the rated current
ANS.4
Lithium-ion batteries are the mainstream battery cells for EVs, but this is only 3.6 V per cell. Normally, four modules are connected in series and in parallel, and one with 7.2 V is used as one module
Battery capacities of current EVs range from a mere 17.6 kWh in the Smart EQ ForTwo with a range of just 58 miles, up to 100 kWh in the Tesla Model S and Model X that can run for over 300 miles before needing a charge.
ANS.5
Ammeter and fuel gauge
ANS.6
battery and starter are connected in serise because
Assuming it is a 12V starter you connect two 12V batteries in parallel. Normally you wouldn’t need to do that, but there are some reasons why you would. If it is extremely cold a battery can provide less amperage than normal, so adding a second battery in parallel would help.
