Project Aim:- To study BAJA ATV Model

Components Used: constant, goto, from, knobs, signal builder, solver configuration, generic engine, variable gear ration, CVT primary RPM, CVT secondary RPM RPM sensor, scope, simple gear ratio, input inertia shaft, ideal rotational motion sensor, tires, integrator, vehicle body, gain.

Here in the dashboard, two knobs are there to control the acceleration and a second for a brake. Two displays show the RPM (roation per minute) and velocity km/hr the minimum speed is 20 km/hr to 100km/hr. It shows as velocity increases the RPM will also increase.

CVT is continuous variable transmission system which can easily change through a constant range of gear ratios. The ease of CVT with suitable control allows the engine to operate at a constant RPM while vehicles move at different speeds.

Generic Engine

this block is an internal combustion engine.

T = input port to normalized engine throttle level

B = rotational conserving port represents engine port

F = rotational conserving port represents engine crankshaft

P= output port for instantaneous engine power

Fc = output port for fuel consumption.

RPM SENSOR

R =mechanical rotational positive probe

C= mechanical rotational reference point

W= angular velocity

A= Angular displacement

Variable Gear Ratio

B - Base driveshaft

F= follower driveshaft

r= ratio of input to output angular shaft velocities

Vehicle body

vehicle body reflects two axle vehicle body in longitudinal motion. the vehicle can have same or diff number of wheels.

Engine Torque Speed Curve

This graph shows the torque-speed curve of a vehicle at changing rpm. In the initial condition, torque is more hence speed is less after a certain time as speed increases RPM also increases at that time torques will reduce. On a steady road, speed is high and torque is less while on a bumpy road roque is high and speed is less.

Vehicle Body Output

Here, the graph represents distance, and speed while applying throttle and brake. By giving a throttle vehicle distance covered less according to that after covering a large distance speed increases and the throttle is also accelerating but here we keep throttle constant so it shows 1 only. But it depends upon the parameter of how we change.

CVT Shaft Speed

This graph reflects the speed of Primary RPM and secondary RPM. Both are connected with gear ratio because of it the CVT primary and secondary PRM speed changes. according to the vehicle gear ratio is maintained and thus for primary RPM speed is initially increased and then gets constant at less than 4000 RPM. while secondary RPM reach 5500 RPM and maintained the speed.
