SIMULINK FINAL PROJECT
REPORT
AIM :TO STUDY THE SYSTEM LEVEL SIMULATION OF ALL TERRAIN VEHICLE.
OBJECTIVE : TO STUDY THE BAJA ATV MODEL WITH AND WITHOUT DASHBOARD AND PREPARE A TECHNICAL REPORT ON SAME.
THEORY : An all-terrain vehicle, also known as a light utility vehicle, a quad bike, or simply a quad, as defined by the American National Standards Institute; is a vehicle that travels on low-pressure tires, with a seat that is straddled by the operator, along with handlebars for steering control.
BAJA ATV MODEL STUDY WITHOUT DASBOARD
The SIMULINK model of BAJA ATV consist of signal builder, solver configuration, goto, generic engine, engine sensor and other Simulink blocks along with CVT and Vehicle body sub-systems.
CVT sub-system consist of input and output shaft inertia, variable ratio gear and few other basic blocks.
Vehicle body sub-system includes breaks and tyres block along with basic blocks like inclination distance velocity and others.
Model parameters signal builder block had break input of zero for 80sec time range and constant throttle input of 0.5 for 80sec time range, generic engine block had initial engine speed of 1750rpm and engine inertia of 0.008kgm^2, the CVTratio varied from 3.7 to 0.7 over time period of 10sec, for variable gear ratio beginning rotational velocity was set at 2500rpm, vehicle mass was set to 250kg. all other parameters were at their default values, and all kind of losses were set to zero.

BAJA ATV MODEL STUDY WITH DASBOARD
The Simulink model here uses dashboard instead of signal builder blocks to give throttle and break input rest of the model consist of same blocks and subsystem and has same parameters as well. Dashboard allows us to vary input during the simulation, the run time for simulation is set to infinity.
OUTPUTS
RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS
In first model without dashboard the throttle and break input remained constant and hence the velocity/speed increase rapidly at initial point and after a point gets constant along with rapid increase in distance travelled after some the distance increase at a constant rate.
In second model with dashboard the throttle and break input are varied by users choice and by result plot one can observe that with decrease in throttle or increase in break input the velocity decreases, but distance constantly increase only the rate of increase changes with inputs of throttle and break.
