Project

Prepare a technical report explaining the model properties & comments on the results.

Description-

The All Terrain vehicle (ATV) is used in hilly places, beach, all kind of forest etc... It withstands a very hard and rough roadways and also offroads.

Simscape model for ATV-

The simscape model contains throttle, brake, engine, gear, continuously variable transmission drive(CVT).

The inputs are given through the signal builder to throttle and brake.

The generic engine receives throttle signal through the simulink to ps converter and then the transmissions are done with the help of gear system.

The above images shows the analog meters and knobs are used to set the throttle power and brake using a constant block.

The engine sensor block contains a ideal rotational motion sensor to sensor the RPM of the engine motor

The CVT block contains inertia, variable gear, and ideal rotational sensor. The simulink to ps converter block is used to give input to variable gear and then we are using inertia to drive the gear. The ideal rotational sensor is used to sensor the speed and we are using an rotational reference.

The signal builder block is shown block and the input is set.

The vehicle body block contains vehicle body, tire and double shoe-brake. The tire is connected to vehicle body and brake.

CVT gear ratio input-

Torque vs Engine Speed Curve-

Vehicle speed output-

We can see from the graph the vehicle attains a max speed of 55 km/hr at full throttle and the brake input is zero.

CVT shaft RPM-

The above graph shows the difference in angular velocities of input and output shaft of the variable gear transmission system

Engine RPM-

Conclusion-

The above graphs shows the output and performance of vehicle and thus with these we can understand the vehicle performance in diffrent conditions by changing the values.
