Project 2
Design and Develop a Simulink model of Energy analysis on EV.
Driving Cycle:
The driving Cycle is data that shows the speed of the vehicle and time. It is used to assess the performance of vehicles for fuel consumption and emissions data. Tailpipe emissions are collected and measured to indicate the performance of the vehicle.
It is also used to predict the performance of the propulsion system's electric drives, batteries, and other components. There are two types of driving cycles Transient and Modal type. FTP-75 is a transient driving cycle.
FTP-75 Drive Cycle:
The procedure is adding the "hot start" cycle that repeats the "cold start" cycle at the beginning of the UDDS cycle. The average speed is thus different but the maximum speed remains the same as in the UDDS.

Simulink model of Drive cycle FTP-75:
To start the EVsimulink enter autoblkEvStart then the project setup is shown for different driving cycles

Result:

Then the characteristics of the cycle are:
- Distance traveled: 11.04 miles
- Duration: 1874 seconds
- Average speed: 21.2 mph (34.1 km/h)
WOT(Wide open Throttle)
Wide open throttle (WOT) is the maximum intake of air and fuel that occurs when the throttle plates inside the carburetor or throttle body are "wide open", providing the least resistance to the incoming air.

Result:

Hence Developed a Simulink model to understand the energy analysis of EVs on different DriveCycles.
