Route the Wiring harness on Given car body and Prepare flatten view drawing in CATIA V5. Application of all Packaging rules, Industry best practices studied in this course shall be demonstrated in design. Apply Protection coverings as required

A) The trunk or boot of a car is the vehicle's main storage or cargo compartment it also have a hatch at the rear of the vehicle. It is also called a tailgate.These doors can be operated manually or electric powered. here we design the trunk or back door wire harness using the Catia.The Backdoor is an assembly of many parts such as inner panel, outer panel upper, outer panel lower and Reinforcement.Inner panel is attached to the outer panel using mastic sealant.

Types of doors based on working position

1. Top Mounted Door
2. Side mounted Door
3. Bottom Door.

Here we had the backdoor cad data which was shown below;

We need to do the routing process for this backdoor. So we need some required wiring harness components like A) Connectors B) Mounting clamps(p-clamp,Furr tree clip) C) inter connecting connector D) L-CLAMP and these are shown below;

First step we need to is placing the components at their position.;

After placing every component we need to start the routing from the interconnecting connector and which was shown below;

After doing the routing the next step what we need to is the flattening process. For this we need to open new window and we should select the electric flattenign workbench, in that we need to define parameters. After defining the parameters we need to extract the routing bundle into flattening window by using 'extract' command and click on the flatten command. The flatten for this process is shoen below;

After doing the flatten process we need to add the protection coverings on those tubes and coverings were added and shown below;

This is the flatten process for above 3d geomentrical bundle. Here while placing the clips and connectors we need to follow certrain packaging rules, According to those rules only we place the components. And after doing the flatten process the next step we need to is we should develop the drawing for the above flatten bundle and that was shown below;

Conclusion - Routing of the wiring harness for the car Backdoor assembly has been succesfully done and prepared flatten-view drawing in Catia V5 as per the design requirements.
