Project 1 : CFD Meshing for Tesla Cyber Truck
AIM:-
Performing CFD Meshing for a given Tesla Cyber Truck model.
OBJECTIVE:-
- To identify and clear all the Topological error in the given model.
- Performing surface mesh of the given model.
- Creating wind tunnel for the model.
- Volumetric mesh for the external CFD analysis.
PROCEDURE:-
Open the geometry model in ANSA.

As we can see only single cons in the figure above so we have to apply TOPO over the geometry. After applying TOPO we can get double cons and open surfaces of the geometry.

We can go into shadow mode to find single cons.

Now we will fill all the open surfaces and remove extended surfaces of the geomtery. Provide following names of different PIDs
- Body
- Back cover
- Rims and Tyres
- Windows
- Lights

After giving different PIDs name check geometry once and make sure there is no errors. As we can see in the following image there is only one triple con and no other errors are there for the given model.

Now we can go for surface mesh with following target lengths for different parts of the model.
- Body = 3mm
- Back cover = 3mm
- Rims and Tyres = 3mm
- Windows = 2mm
- Lights = 1mm
For Lights target length is 1mm and following quality criteria is given

After performing spot Mesh we got some off elements after performing reconstruct we elliminate all off elements.

For windows target length is 2mm and we got some off elements. After reconstruct and deleting small surface off elements were eliminated.

For rims and tyres 3mm is the target length. We got some off elements, since the smallest distance between cons were 0.21mm. Minimum length 0.1mm were given for the mesh and performed surface mesh again. After reconstruct all off elements were eliminated.

For the body the minimum length found to be 0.21 mm between the cons, so same quality criteria is used for body also. After reconstruct we left with some off elements and it was difficult to eliminate. So we can proceed with these off elements.

Following figure shows surface mesh of the model.

Now we can create wind tunnel for a given X length of model where front face will be at a distance of 4X from front and back face will be ata distance of 6X from back side. And side surfaces are at a X distance from suface of the model respectively. Top surface will be at a distance of 3X from top of model and bottom face will be just below the tyres. Target length of bottom surface is 100 mm and top surface is 1000 mm. The side surface are give with geometric variation to capture the change in target length from bottom to top.

Now we can go for volumetric mesh for this model. Click on define volume and you get volume for external aerodynamic analysis over the model.
We stop here since creating voumetric mesh for this model requires higher computational time.
CONCLUSION:-
- Removed all the Topological errors in the model after importing.
- Generated surface mesh for the model.
- Removed possible off elements from the model.
- Created wind tunnel for external aerodynamic analysis.
