Project 1 - 2D meshing on the instrumental Panel

Aim:

To perform 2D meshing for Batch mesh Components using ANSA.

Procedure:

Step 1:

Import the given CAD model to ANSA.

Step 2:

Do a Topology check and do geometric clean up. By doing it, the CAD errors are resolved.

Step 3:

Generate the mid-surface for the component. As the mid-surface was not created properley, Casting was created using the given CAD.

Step 4:

Generate the FE from the given CAD. After which the FE model is to be cleared for quality and flow.

Step 5:

Thickness has to be assigned to the FE and checked with the CAD.

Step 6:

Then the shells has to be drawn as solid.

Learning outcomes:

I learnt to create mesh using casting method. I also used the align manager for aligning the mesh to the respective CAD surface.

Conclusion:

FE model was created for the given CAD model for creating 2D Mesh.
