Week - 4 - 2D meshing for Plastic components

Aim:

To perform 2D Meshing for Plastic Components using ANSA.

Procedure:

Step 1:

Import the given CAD model to ANSA.

Step 2:

Do a Topology check and do geometric clean up. By doing it, the CAD errors are resolved.

Step 3:

Generate the mid-surface for the component.

Step 4:

Generate the FE from created mid-surface. After which the FE model is to be cleared for quality and flow.

Step 5:

Step thickness has to be assigned to the FE and checked with the CAD. Then the shells has to be drawn as solid.

Learning outcomes:

I learnt to create mesh for plastic component.

Conclusion:

FE model was created for the given CAD model for creating plastic mesh.
