Week 3 - 2D meshing for sheet metal

Aim:

To do manual sheet metal for the given hood model.

Procedure:

Step 1:

Import the given CAD .

Step 2:

Do a topology check and check for geometrical errors.

Step 3:

Generate the mid-surface for all the components.

Step 4:

Create mesh from the mid-surface generation & clear for quality.

Step 5:

Create property & Thickness.

Learning outcomes:

I learnt to create mid-surface using ansa and was able to implement all my learning’s in this challenge.

I am unable to clear the solid surface. so i have attached the FE only.

Conclusion:

The 2D sheet metal finite element model of hood was created and all the required steps was completed.
