Project 1 - 2D meshing on the instrumental Panel

Aim:-

For the given Instrument panel model, check for the geometrical errors and mesh with the given element Quality criteria. After meshing the component the thickness has to be assigned.

Quality criteria is as given below.

1. Target/Average length:  4

2. Minimum Length: 2

3. Maximum Length: 6

4. Aspect: 3

5. Warpage: 15

6. Skewness: 45

7. Jacobian: 0.7

8. Minimum Quad Angle: 45

9. Maximum Quad Angle: 135

10. Minimum  Tria Angle: 30

11. Maximum Tria Angle: 120

10. Tria Percentage: 15

Procedure:-

1. Give the "TOPO" for the geiven model.

2. "Check

3. Fix the errors of triple cons, single cons, unchecked faces and crack between the faces.

4. For the single cons at the edge create a new surface in order to close the volume of the model.

5. Set the "property identification" for every part of the model.

6. Use "Mid-surface

7. For the obtained mesh check the off elements as per the given quality criteria.

8. Fix all the off-elements that are generated.

9. Align the distorted elements using the "Mid-surface

10. Remove all the opposite trias and rotating quads.

11. Assign thickness to the shell elements.

12. "Switch-on draw shell as elements" and save the model.

Learning outcomes:-

1. I have learned how to generate "new part" or "group" in the model.

2. I have learned how to use "batch meshing" to generate the new elements.

3. I have learned how to aligne the distorted elements, using align manager.

4. I have learned how to remove the empty models in the aligne manager.

5. I have learned how to take the "mid-surface" of the hollow circular elements.

6. I have learned how to fix the "off-elements".

7. I have learned what is purpose of "Imprint " command.

8. I have learned how to make changes in the design of model using "morphing".

Conclusion:-

Meshing of the Instrumental Panel is done, with respect to given quality criteria.

All the off-elements are fixed and connections are done wherever required.
