Challenge

Project 1 - 2D meshing on the instrumental Panel

Aim: To achive proper FE & good mesh flow

Procedure:

1. Opened model in Ansa & checked cons resolution & then checked Geometrical errors.

2. Took some different surfaces' measurements.

3. Chossed Casting metod to achive FE because componet having uniform thickness.

4. Before that Gave Quality criteria & mesh parameters as per given.

5. Then Used Topo- Faces - Mid Surface- Casting/Extrusion, then gave min. thickness & target length.

6. Got FE with mesh flow but there are lots of quality issues, also dog houses & ribs not correctly defined.

7. to define that used Align Manager. In Align Manager selection tool like Area & Parameter to select perticular surface/line . By Align Manager I tried to gave proper defination to perticular surfaces.

8. Sometimes manually created few surfaces like ribs by using Curves- Middle in Topo & then filled that surface using Shell mesh - Fill in Classic mesh.

9. In Align Manager need to provide proper selection to give proper defination & using that aligned the faces at cut sides, because absense of parent faces Casting unable to give proper end line.

10. Simultaneously worked on mesh flow. To that used split, swap, Join, Paste etc.

11. At end give shell to solid for assigning tickness to FE

Learning Outcomes:

Leaned & still learning some working of Align Manager which is really found interesting. By this get more famillier with Auto mid generation & mesh generation.

Conclusion;

By practicing & doing this got more confidence & learned where to focus more.
