Project 1 - 2D meshing on the instrumental Panel
Objective : To mesh the given instrument panel model according to the quality criteria.
Methodology :
- Import the model.
- Clear geometrical errors.
- Extract Mid surface.
- Assign Thickness appropriate to the parent geometry.
- Mesh the model.
Procedure :
Step 1 : : Import the given model of IP or dashboard onto the GUI of Ansa.

Step 2 : Give topo to the model. Check for geometrical errors and try and resolve them through manual methods or automatic methods depending on the requirements.

Step 3 : Extract the mid surface of the instrument panel model and assign their respective property id. The mid surface extraction is done manually. After the extraction of mid surface the mid surface is checked for geometrical errors and the errors are resolved before starting the meshing process.

Step 4 : Topology cleanup is done on the extracted mid surface of IP. The mesh is generated section by section or according pid .

- The mesh is generated on the mid surface for the above mentioned quality criteria.
Step 5 : The elemental errors are resolved using different options from shell mesh module buttons.
- A mixture of quads and triangular elements are generated as mesh on component.
The trias element percentage is reduced to as low as possible to have a neat mesh flow.

Conclusion : The given model of Instrument Panel cleared from geometrical errors and manual mid surface was extracted for the same and meshed for the given quality criteria.
