  • Select the window & type it the BX.

b. To create similar doors and windows in a floor plan layout=CS

  • Select the windows & door & type CS then past it.

c. To reduce the thickness of lines visible in plan views=TL

m. To create an array of model elements=AR

2) Using Revit and the project used from week 6 to 8 prepare a schedule for the following
a. Walls
b. Doors
c. Windows
d. Material – Concrete/Wood

AIM:

To prepare a schedule for the given elements using Revit.

Introduction:

  • A schedule is a tabular display of information, extracted from the properties of the elements in a project.
  • A schedule can list every instance of the type of element you are scheduling, or it can collapse multiple instances on to a single row, based on the schedule grouping criteria.
  • You can create a schedule at any point in the design process.
  • As you make changes to the model that affect the schedule, it automatically updates to reflect those changes.
  • You can add a schedule to a drawing sheet.
  • You can export a schedule to another software program, such as a spread sheet program.

Procedure:

a. Walls

  • Open the revit project & go to the view tab.
  • Select the schedule option the new tab will be appeare,as shown below.

  • Next select the wall option in the new schedule.

  • Add the wall fields in the schedule properties.

  • Wall schedule will be appers.

Result:

b. Doors

  • Open the revit project & go to the view tab.
  • Select the schedule option the new tab will be appeare,as shown below.

  • Next select the door option in the new schedule.

  • Add the door fields in the schedule properties.

  • door schedule will be appers.

Result:

c. Windows

  • Open the revit project & go to the view tab.
  • Select the schedule option the new tab will be appeare,as shown below.
  • Next select the windows option in the new schedule.

  • Add the windows fields in the schedule properties.

  • windows schedule will be appers.

Result:

d. Material – Concrete/Wood

  • Open the revit project & go to the view tab.
  • Select the Material Takeoff option the new tab will be appeare,as shown below.

  • Next select the floor option in the new Material Takeoff.

  • Add the floor fields in the schedule properties.

  • floor schedule will be appers.

Result:

3) Using Revit Calculate area and volume of each room in the model with appropriate room tags applied to each room. Prepare a schedule report for area and volume of each room.

AIM:

To prepare a schedule report for area & volume of each room in the model

Introduction:

  • A schedule is a tabular display of information, extracted from the properties of the elements in a project.
  • A schedule can list every instance of the type of element you are scheduling or it can collapse multiple instances into a single row, based on the schedule's grouping criteria.
  • You can create a schedule at any point in the design process.
  • As you make changes to the model that affect the schedule, it automatically updates to reflect theose changes.
  • You can add a schedule to a drawing sheet.
  • You can export a schedule to another software programe, such as a spreadsheet program.

Procedure:

  • Open the revit project & go to the view tab & select the schedules option.
  • Select the schedule option the new tab will be appeare,as shown below
  • Next select the Roos option in the new schedule.

  • Add the Room fields in the schedule properties.

  • Room schedule will be appers.

Result:

4) Using the same schedule using the unit cost rate for materials available in the internet, prepare total cost of materials used in the project
a. Total Cost of Materials
b. Individual Material Take off

AIM:

To prepare cost of materials using the unit cost rate for materials avilable in the internet.

Introduction:

  • Material takeoff schedules list the sub-components or materials of any Revit family.
  • MAterial takeoff schedules have all the functionality & characteristics of other schedule views, but they allow you to show more detail about the assembly of a compnent.
  • Any material that is placed in a component within Revit can be shceduled.

Procedure:

  • Open the revit project & go to view tab & select the material takoff option.
  • Next we click the wall & add the cost of the wall.

  • Next we take the door material & press ok.

  • Add the wall field in the material takeoff properties & add extra of the filter in the total cost

  • The area of the column are change into the Ttal cost using the calculated toolbar.
  • Add the formula to the total cost.

  • Door material calaculation.
  • Add the cost to the doors.

  • Windows material calculation.
  • Add the cost of the windows.

5) Using the concept of Visual Programming discussed in class, list a flowchart for the following scenario
a. How to decide framings for a structure using Dynamo ?
b. If there is no water coming from the pipes
c. If request for money from client has been declined for the project

  • To decide framing for a structure using Dynamo

  • If there is no water coming from the pipes.

  • If request for money from client has been declined for the project.

6) List the parameters associated with each model element
a. Wall
b. Floor
c. Door
d. Window
e. Table
f. Building

a. Wall

  • Wall type
  • Wall thickness
  • Wall length
  • Wall description

  • Door type
  • Door width
  • Door height
  • Door matrial
  • Material cost

d. Window

  • Window type
  • Window width
  • Window height
  • Window material
  • Material cost

e. Table

  • Table type
  • Table length
  • Table width
