INTRODUCTION:
The treadmill bicycle is completely a new way of moving which is designed mostly for fitness enthusiast . Basically using a treadmill is similar to running or walking. Treadmill e bike contains two benefits one is it can commute easily to different places. And at a same point it can work as an treadmill during the travel. Walking, running or cycling have also halted from daily schedule due to time due constraints, space availability or may be any other cause .
Observing this situation we decided to design and fabricate an e bike which can helps jogging and speedily commute from one place to another place without making any tired also considering about the pollution level of our cities. The manual treadmill does not consume electricity as its belt speed is relative to the users speed. The roller of the treadmill is coupled with the gear and the chain mechanism and then with electric system which helps us in moving at a significant speed.
ABSTRACT:
Walkable bike is a conversion of a conventional bicycle into a treadmill cycle. It is a collaboration of two different things i.e treadmill and electric bike. This is designed to save our environment from the harmful emissions of the vehicle which is causing a very hazardous impact on the human kind . This is designed keeping in mind that we can commute easily to different places speedily without getting exhausted by doing some brisk walk or jogging which will eventually help us in burning some calories without leaving any carbon footprints behind, without emitting any other harmful gases, without burning any of the available fossil fuels. The idea behind this is making an affordable , ecofriendly, easy to use vehicle and using the treadmill outside the gym making the lives of people heathier and happier.
PROBLEM DEFINITION:
The main drawback of treadmill is that it is stationary. That becomes boring for user to run in a still surrounding with natural exposure to environment. similarly cycling in the conventional way is common but people belong to the old ages prefer only walking. Even people travelling to a shortest distance they are using vehicles which can cause pollution.
OBJECTIVE:
Treadmill cycle is the new way of locomotion . It makes workout more interesting and competitive. There is no need to stuck in a gym at a corner when you can roam while you workout. Moreover it saves fuel thus helps in saving the natural resources. Lastly in this meteropolitan world, people are ignoring their health and fitness. This cycle would be a boon for such fitness deprived people having hectic schedule.

DESIGN AND COMPONENETS DESCRIPTION:
FRAME:
A bicycle frame is the main component of a bicycle ,onto which wheels and other components are fitted . The modern and the most common frame design for an upright bicycle is based on the safety cycle, and consists of two triangles. A main triangle and a paired rear triangle . This is known as the diamond frame. Frame are required to be strong, stiff and light, which they do by combining different materials and shapes. A frameset consists of the frame and fork of a bicycle and sometimes includes the headset and seat post. Frame builders will often produce the frame and fork together as a paired set. Mild steel is the best option to fabricate the frame as it is cheap in price and affordable . carbon content of mild steel 10% to 15%. It is easily weldable.
DESIGN METHOD:
I have designed the frame by using projected curve method. Projected curve method is method of drawing in a two planes and getting the result as an intermediate one. And then I used the sweep command and extrude option to make a solid body.
HANDLE BAR:
A bicycle handlebar is the steering control for bicycles. It is equivalent of a triller for vehicles and vessels, as it is most often directly mechanically linked to pivoting front wheel via a stem which in turn attaches it to the fork. Besides steering, handlebars also often support a portion of the riders weight , depending on their riding position, and provide a convenient mounting place for brake levers , shift levers , cyclo computers , bells, etc .Mild steel is a good option for fabricating the handle bar. It is cheap in price and easily available in the market. It is easily weldable. It has good magnetic properties due to its high iron content, it is therefore defined as being ferromagnetic.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF MILD STEEL:
- Ductile
- Machinable and weldable
- Affordable
- Magnetic
- High iron content
DESIGN METHOD:
I have designed the handle bar by sweep command and extrude command . I have inserted a plane in a required place to get solid portion of the handle bar. I have used the 3D sketches to design the brake and then wire connection.

WALKING BELT:
The walking surfaces of a treadmill comprises of the thin belt and a rigid plate held between the two surfaces of that belt so as to provide support when the transverse load of footfalls is applied. The treadmill belt size is an important characteristic in a treadmill if you are preparing for running or jogging on your treadmill. Nylon belt is available in the market. It has good tear strength.

PROPERTIES OF NYLON:
- Lustrous
- Elastic
- Very strong
- Damage resistant to oil and many chemicals.
- Resilient
- Does not absorb water
- Dries quickly
DESIGN METHOD:
I have designed the belt by using extrude command to get into a solid part.
WHEELS:
A wheel is a circular component that is made to rotate on an axle bearing The wheel is one of the major components of the wheel and axle which is one of the six simple machines. Wheel is along with the axles, allow heavy objects to be moved easily allowing movement or transportation while supporting a load or performing labor in machines. Wheels are also utilized for other objectives such as ship’ wheel ,steering wheel , potters wheel and fly wheel. A wheel greatly lessens friction by facilitating motion by rolling together with the use of axles. For rotations of the wheel , a moment must be applied to the wheel about its axis , either by way of gravity or by the application of another external force or torque.
SKILL LYNC
DESIGN METHOD:
I have designed the wheel by using revolve boss bass command to get a rim. Again I have used the revolve boss bass command to design the tyer. I have used extrude boss bass command to get solid disc. And then used circular pattern to create a design on the disc.

ROLLERS:
Bicycle rollers are a type of bicycle trainer that make it fesible to ride a bicycle indoors without moving forward. However, dissimilar to other types of bicycle trainers , rollers do not confine to the bicycle frame , and the riders must balance him or herself on the rollers while training. Bicycle rollers normally comprise of three cyclinders , drums or rollers on top of which the bicycle runs. A belt joins one of the rear rollers of the front roller, causing the front wheel of the bicycle to spin when the bicycle is pedaled .
BEARINGS:
A bearing is machine element which holds another moving machine element. The moving machine element called as a journal . Bearing allows a relative motion between the contact surfaces of the members while transferring the load. A certain amount of power is wasted in removing frictional resistance. So as to frictional resistance and wear and to carry away the heat generated, a lubricate may be utilized. The lubricants used is often a mineral oil refined from petroleum. The bearing block is provided to hold the bearings. It I made up of cast iron. All the bearing are fabricated on the machine frame.
FLY WHEEL:
A fly wheel is a rotating mechanical device that is used to accumulate rotational energy. Flywheels have an inertia called the moment of inertia and thus withstand changes in rotational speed. The amount of energy present in a fly wheel I proportional to the square of its rotational speed. Energy is transmitted to a flywheel by the application of a torque to it , thereby improving its rotational speed, and hence its accumulated energy. Conversely , a flywheel release stored energy by implementing torque to a mechanical load, thereby reducing the flywheel’ s rotational speed.
SPROCKET:
A sprocket or sprocket wheel is a profiled wheel which has teeth ,cogs , or even sprockets that mesh with a chain , track or other perforated or indented material. The name sprocket applies usually to any wheel upon which radial projections retain a chain passing over it. It is different from a gear in such a way that sprockets are never conjugated together directly ,and differs from a pulley, the sprockets which have teeth and pulleys are smooth.

CHAIN:
A chain is a series of connected links which are typically made of metal. A chain may consist of two or more links. Those designed for lifting, such as when used with a hoist ;for pulling ; or for securing ; such as with a bicycle lock, have links that are torus shaped , which make the chain flexible in two dimensions. Those designed for transferring power in machines have links designed to mesh with the teeth of the sprockets of the machine, and are flexible in only one dimension. They are known as roller chains, though there are also non roller chain such as block chain.

SKILL LYNC
DESIGN METHOD:
I have designed the chain by using blocks and then according to the diameter assembled them to get a chain.
MOTOR:
Basic treadmill motor are available with 2.5hp and 1440 rpm. It is not suitable for driving on roads due to traffic issues. Also it will leads to accidents so for the walking bike we use a common traction motor with 0.3 hp and 300 rpm. With this much of speed the cycle can be drive easily.

- Wattage : 350 w
- Rotation: 2650 Rpm
- Torque: 2.5 N.M to 4 N.M
- Efficiency(%): ›75
- Dimension (width × length)=101*69

DESIGN OF THE CYCLE:
This can be constructed by the simple arrangements of the gears , belt and frame on a normal bicycle. The cycle is to be divided into three parts. The first part consists of the front wheel and handle, the second part consist of the seat , pedals, gear & gear chain. The third part consists of rear wheel. Now coming to the design of walking cycle, the second part is to be replaced with a belt drive similar to that of a treadmill and the rear roller of this belt is to be welded with a gear.
