Introduction to REVIT concepts
AIM :
To study about the concept of revit software
INTRODUCTION :
A detailed introduction and development course for modelling and designing using Autodesk Revit. This course consists of an introduction to Autodesk Revit and using modelling tools to create residential, commercial and industrial units. Introduction to the National Building Code and modelling in Revit following the code provisions. Detailed use of Revit in creating views and rendering views to the cloud. This coursework is aimed to inculcate collaborative and coordination based modelling which reflects the industry's approach towards Autodesk Revit. In addition to learning design skills, this course provides tutorials on drafting standards and using Autodesk Revit to create clean and error-free drawings.
USES OF REVIT :
Revit is a commercial building information modeling (BIM) software by the company Autodesk. It's generally used by architects, structural engineers, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers, designers, and contractors. Autodesk Revit allows users to create, edit, and review 3D models in exceptional detail
QUESIONS :
1) From the file menu, create a new project (Structural / Architectural / Construction template ) and name the project appropriately
PROCEDURE :
RESULT :
2) Save the new project file. Close and open using icons from file toolbar
PROCEDURE :
RESULT :
3) From the architecture/ structure toolbar familiarize with options to draw a wall. Create a rectangular layout of walls of about 40’-0” X 35’-0”
PROCEDURE :
RESULT :
4) From the Annotate toolbar use the aligned option to add dimensions to the layout
PROCEDURE :
RESULT :
5) Use the properties browser to switch to different wall types
PROCEDURE :
RESULT :
6) Create a 3D view from the view toolbar and save the view with the appropriate name
PROCEDURE :
RESULT :
7) Navigate through the 3D model using the view cube. Orbit/pan through the model layout created
PROCEDURE :
RESULT :
8) Use the visibility settings option below to switch model to shaded, realistic, hidden lines options
PROCEDURE :
RESULT :
9) Turn the sun path on and off to view shadings in the layout created
PROCEDURE :
RESULT :
10) Use the Manage toolbar to enter project settings, project name, and project issue date (choose according to your convenience).
PROCEDURE :
RESULT :
11) What is the Analyze toolbar used in Revit? How it is beneficial for design and modeling
12) What are the links that Revit supports to be linked to the model?
13) Why do you need the Collaborate tab in Revit? How it supports modeling and its efficiency
