Identification of Cracks
Q1:What is the mode of failure or damage of the beams in the figure above? Are the damages repairable? Elaborate
a.
Ans:Buckling failure due to the reinforcements are compressed due to this concrete on the reinforcement is broken compressive behaviour of concrete it causes where the beam is connected to column due to the expansion of reinforcement this failure will cause.
b.
Ans:It is due to the improper concreting it is constructional error when placing a concrete to the column it should be place using vibrator.
c.
Ans:Connection failure occur
Shear force develops in between the column and beam cause this type of failures
Q2:
a.
Ans:Bucking failure
It is due to the excess of compression load fracture will occur
b.
Ans:Due to the shear force this failure occur, shear failure due to the insuffiecient shear resistance this failure occur
c.
Ans:It is called as joint failure or connection failure
If applied force exceeds the shear force then the structure will fail
