Identification of Cracks
Q1)
a) These are shear cracks occur due to excess shear force, repairing is not perfect solution because its a structural failure.
b) It seems like a compression member, it is crushing failure. If the cracks are not much deep we can repair it.
c) This is beam column joint, cracks developed due to excess lateral and vertical focres along with moments, repairing is not good idea because it is structural failure as appropriate amount of reinforcement is not provided.
Q2)
a) It is crushing failure as we can see the reinforcement is buckled. Repairing is not a good option.
b) It seems failure due to moment or excess axial force, can be repaired if reinforcement have not undergone much damage.
c) It is failure of beam cloumn joint and can not and should not be rapaired at any cost, its a failure.
