Hood design-Week 2
HOOD ASSEMBLY
A car hood assembly, also known as a bonnet in some countries , is a crucial component of a vehicle. it serves multiple purpose, including protecting he engine and other crictical parts, contributing to the vehicle's aerodynamics , and providing access for maintenance and repairs,
uter panel: this is the visible part of the hood, designed to match the car and aerodynamics, its's usually materials like steel, aluminum, or composite materials for strength and ligth weight properties,
Outer panel: this is the visible part of the hood, designed to match the car and aerodynamics, its's usually materials like steel, aluminum, or composite materials for strength and ligth weight properties,
Draft analysis:
these allow the hood to open and close smoothly. they are typically located at the rear of the hood,
latch and stricker : this mechanism secures the hood in places when closed. the latch is usually operated from inside the car , often near the driver's seat.
Emboss
Throughout the inner panel we provide different emboss. we can increase the stiffness of the inner panel throught these emboss ,the shape and size of the embosses also determines the direction of the force distribution resulted from frontal collision.
Section inertia analysis:
MOI (MAX) : 7.2917577e+08(mm^4)
MOI (MIN) : 2.001417233e+06(mm^4)
