Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge
WHEELARCH
As the name suggests, the wheel arches in a car or locomotive, is made to protect the cabin from all the debris, water and also road noise to a certain extent. It is made just over the upper part of the wheel and covers the rear part also. Proper gaps and distances are maintained to make the wheels move freely.

EUROPEAN STANDARDS
Just as the other Automobile parts, the wheel arches also have a standard to maintain and few regulations to follow.

According to the standards the quality of the vehicle can be maintained to a good level. For the wheel and its arches to perform its duty properly, a distance of 10mm from the extreme edge is measured and if the section angles SA, SB, SC, SD & SE as shown at the points in the figure, do not meet these standards it does not make up to the Quality according to the European level.
INPUT
Here for our reference, to check the given wheel arch, we have a demo wheel and wheel arch data in the cad form. We make the angles from the centre of the wheel as shown in the figure and measure the required data.
