Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge

• EUROPEAN REGULATION :

1 Condition: At five sections the length of the outer most wheel from side to fender must be greater than 10 mm to salisfy the EUROPEON REGULATIONS, the distance measured is shown in the below image:

For measuring these distance first we draw a plane at outemost surface of the wheels as shown in below image:

after this we go to skectch and create one vertical and horizontal line now creat a line which is at 30 degree angle from the central vertical line in forward direction and a 50 degree line in rearward from the central vertical axis, make sure that all thes e length must crosses the nearest edge of the fender. Now create a point on the nearest arc of the fender and give a virtical distance to 150 mm as EUROPEAN REGULATION REQUIREMENTS and create a line which is passing through thids point from the centre coordinate , now create an intermediate line between this line and the line which is at 50 degree from the veritcal line.

Now projecrt the nearest arc from the fender and make intersecrtion point between this arc and the all five lines we got five points on the sketch.

NOW finish the sketch and project this point on the fender surface.

Now measere the distance between the points on the sketch and the ponts on the fender surface see below images:

in the above image the distance is less than 10mm so it is not setifying EUOPEON REGULATION.

IN the above figure the disstance is below 0mm going in negative direction 2.88mm meanse the fender surface is below the wheel outer most surface. so it is not setifying EUOPEON REGULATION

2. Condition:

Here we will measure the distance between the fender and the wheel as shown in the below figure.

the distance denoted by the symbol a and this distance must not be less than 5 mm

to satisfy the EUOPEON REGULATION

For measuring this distance we go to sketch and project the outer most circle from the wheel as shown in figure below

Create two intersection pont between this arc and the line which is created 30 degree and 50 degree from the circle

and measure the distance between them.

the distance is43 mm which is greaterthane 5 mm so satisfying EUOPEON REGULATION

here also its greater thane 5 mm

so satisfying EUOPEON REGULATION
