Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge

Fender Wheel Arch:

Wheel Arch is the semi-circular part of the fender positioned above the wheel of the vehicle. The main role of wheel arch is it protects both passenger’s compartment and pedestrians from the projection of water, mud and stones. The wheel arch area is usually designed as a cover or shield over the tyre along its perimeter to stop any stones, dirt, sand, etc from getting thrown into the vehicle.

European Standard:

The standard of wheel arch should meet the below requirement to pass out the european test. In this standard, the length should be more than 10mm, between outer fender and outer surface of the wheel. SB point is at 30 degree angle from the center line.

As per European standard i created a sketch after creating plane on surface-

after projected on surface and created points on end curves for easy measuring

will measure the values for certain points as above 2nd image

Required Min 10mm inside of tire with reference to Fender

SA:9.9mm ( Non Applied)

SB:10mm (Applied)

SC:0.1mm ( Non Applied)

SD:2.8mm ( Non Applied)

SE:5.9mm ( Non Applied)

FInally As per European Standard this Wheel arch is not applicable beacuse only one point is applied and remaining all are not.
