Fender Designing with Mountings

OBJECTIVES

To understand the given dimensions and drawings

To provide proper dimensions for others referances.

To justify the given parameters.

To produce Fender design with all parameters.

INTRODUCTION

In 13th century it was called as DEFENDER but it is shorterning word of fender from 1960. Bonnet is another word of the fender. The fenders of the car are parts of the cars over the wheels. The fender not only protect a car from sustaing damages from the road debris but it prevents debris from being thrown up at other vehicles on the road. This is why installing of fender. The fender has two types, it will following below:

TYPES OF FENDERS

i) Full type Fender

ii) Half type Fender

FULL TYPE FENDER

Fig. 1.1

It is called full type fender, it takes more materials than half type fender it will cost affecting. Now a days vehicles were producing Half type fender mostly.

HALF TYPE FENDER

Fig.1.2

The above follow fig is half type fender, Now a days car company is producing this type fenders only, because it will reduce materials and cost. it gives asthetic look for car or any vehicles. It is also protect the from the debris. Here the fender has mounting areas, following below.,

MANUFACTURING OF FENDER

* The mostly common UHSS grade is using for roll formed bumper fenders include recovery annelaing, dual phase 980 and martenstic steel, or any other suitable materials.

* To design the follow the parent car or with changes and inspect the design for next process.

Important process:

Stamping:

* stamping is begining manufacturing process and it involves convert the raw materials into body parts.

Sheet metal:

* Sheet metla is second step process of joing together and making box shape.

Painting:

* After following process painting is the next process it protect the car from corrosion and give the good look of the car.

Assembly :

* It is the last step in the manufacturing process. At this is stage are assembling the mounting area and darts.

Designing process for fender with given parameters

Fig.1.3

The following above fig was given parameters. so that the design of fender following below,

Fig. 1.4 Fender design

Mountings of Fender

1) Drip area of fender

Fig. 1.5 Drip area

This is called drip area of fender it is one of the important mounting area, the holes are provide for jointing with fasterners with mounting area of car. The darts are provided for strength of the fender from vibration.

2) Piller mounting

Fig. 1.6 Piller mounting

This is designed by NX cad with given parameters. it is piller mounting it will mount with A piller of car.

3) Sill mounting

Fig. 1.7 Sill mounting

These sill mounting area will mounted on sill area of car. It has holes for jointing fasteners with mounting area.

) Baffle mounting

Fig. 1.8 Baffle mounting

Fig. 1.9 Baffle mounting

5) Pumper mounting

Fig. 2.1 Pumper mounting

It is pumper mounting, it will mounted on the pumper. it has thickened.

DARTS

Fig. 2.2 Darts

The above figured is named as Darts it was provided for protect from the vibration for mounted area. it was blended with two faces.

FASTERNERS OR JOINTING BOLTS

Fig. 2.3 Fasterners or Bolt

It is jointing materials for mounting area with fender.

It has clearance area is 10 mm

The bolt should minimum value of 5 mm.

CRETERIA FOR DESIGN THE FENDER

* Produce the given dimensions such as following below,

i) Flat surface fro law extension

ii) Produce the hole for jointing is 5 mm.

iii) Fasterner clearance area is 10 mm

iv) Make all the sharp corner into smooth corner.

v) Avoid the overlaping

vi) Provide the proper space for head lamp and Hood.

Vii) Finally, should thickning the all surface is must 0.75 mm

CONCLUSION

* The Fender was designed by Nx cad with given dimensions and parameters.

* The above creteria was justified.

* And all details and referances were given in this report.
