Fender Design Challenge
FENDER DESIGN
OBJECTIVE
The major objective of the project is to design a fender using a new wage design software in NX CAD.
INTRODUCTION

The front fender is a part of the vehicle that frames the wheel. The primary purpose of the vehicle is to protect the prediction from hitting sand, mud, rock etc. fender will be in two different types full bumper type and half bumper type. Due to newer technology every car manufacturer goes for half bumper type. The cost of sheet metal is reduced as we can produce two half bumper type fenders in a single blank. This method is to reduce the huge amount of scrap and increase production.
Fender Design parameters

- Design drip area
- Design sill mount area
- Design body mount area
- Design bumper mount region
- And A-pillar mount region
Input from the styling team has been provided as skin data.
Given surface is shown below.

Master section is given to create the drip area
Design of drip area

We can see the distance between the headlight mount and the A-pillar mount.
As per the master section create the drip area.
Dart is used to strengthening the part and basic commands like law extension and emboss are used to create the drip area. Edge blends are used in the middle of the surface.
- Creating drip area
2.Design of sill mount area
The sill is the bottom-most part of the fender. Like the same, we used extend sheet and emboss commands to create the sill mount area.
The sill mounting area is shown bellow
3.Baffle mounting
One of the important mountings for plastic and rubber parts is the covers the engine parts and prevent sand and stone from hitting.
4.bumper side mounting
one of the parts is mounted to the bumper to give a perfect fit.
5 A-pillar mounting
Ribs are provided in order to increase the strength of the A-pillar mounting point
Mounting emboss and the holes are created in the A-pillar mount

Over all output of the fender

Conclusion
We have developed the front fender with the mounting points followed by the design parameters and the master section.
