Fender Design

Fender design :

A car tyre fender is a plastic , metal  that bends over the wheel on the side of the car ,extending from the front bumper to the car door.The main function of car fender is to protect tires and braking systems from mud or othe rimpurites so that htey are safer and more efficient.Fenders also help prevent mud, dirt ,dust particles and other liquid from being thrown into the air when the tires are rolling.This component is installed as well as part of the car frame and is available in various model and size.there could be two type of fender front and rear....,

Old and New Fenders:-

Mounting Types :

• Drip Area mounting .
• Pillar Mounting .
• Sill Mounting.
• Bumper Mounting.
• Baffle .

1) Drip Area Mounting :-

Drip Area Mounting is part which connects the fender with the engie comparment .Drip area has some Constraints which needs empty area in the back and front area of the fender to mount other funtioning parts.To attach fasterners are used.,,,,

2)Pillar Mounting :-

The forward most roof pillar,forming the uprits that support the windscreen .so for front fender the A pillar mount is created on fender.,

3)Sill Mounting :- 

Sill is inner area of the front door hence the sill mounting is created on fender its fastened so the embossing is done..

3)Bumper Mounting :-

Bumper front area of the car During any contact with  pedstrian or crash bumper takes most of the hit and next to it fender is attach.hence here too mounting is made on fender..

Manufacturing Process :-..

Material we know what are used after designing with helps of design parameter (master section) the manufacturing comes with several process unfolding shearing are carried out on a plate with proper cold roll and unfold cold roll shearing with corresponding size according to material used.then after this two process other two oil pressing and punching are carried out .and in the last the parts fender are machined after then welding process is used in needed areas ...

Design Parameters :-

• Use Dart command to create dart to increase the strength of the mounting.
• Make edges Smooth 
• Every mounting should have fillets no sharp edges their too.
• Thickness of the fender should be 0.75mm as per standard.
