Fender Design
FENDER DESIGN
OBJECTIVE :
The objective of this project is to design a fender using a new age design software - NX - CAD.
FENDER :
A fender is the part of a car, truck, motorcycle, or other vehicles that frames or covers a wheel well. Its main purpose is to prevent debris, rocks, mud, liquids, sand, and other road debris from getting thrown in the air while the tries rotate.
The “fender” typically refers to the front panel that covers the front wheels, and the “quarter panel” typically refers to the rear panel that covers the wheel that also includes the roof pillar. The “bumper” is the front and rear ends of a motor vehicle to absorb impact in a minor collision.
The below image shows a fender and quarter panel on a car. The top half of the image is the fender or “front fender” (highlighted in red). The bottom half of the image shows the quarter panel or “rear fender” (highlighted red).

Importance of FENDER :
car fenders are very important to protect your car from being damaged by road debris such as pebbles, stones, sand, and other things that may get stuck in the wheel wells. They will also make your car look better and more stylish. They will keep your car safe from all sorts of damage caused by road debris and rainwater. The car fenders protect the sides of the car from splashing water, dirt, rock, and other fluids on the road as you drive. The liquid spills on the road can damage your car’s body paint. As the tires spin very fast on the road, they have very high kinetic energy (rotational energy) to eject particles at high velocities.
TYPES OF FENDER
- Full Bumper type
- Half Bumper type
MOUNTING
- Bumper
- Drip
- A Pillar
- Sill
- Cowl

Data given for Designing Fender:

1 : Create the Drip Area

2 : Create A pillar Mount

3 : Create Bumper Mount

4 : Sill Mount

5 : Cowl Mount

APPLYING OF THICKNESS TO THE SURFACE .
The thickness of 0.75 mm inward on the final sewed surface of the fender to the sheet metal parameters
