Fender Design
Objective:
To Design the Front Fender wit necessary Mounting area given below.
- Drip Area
- Bumper mount
- A-pillar mount
- Sill mount area
- Baffle and Splash mount
Introduction:
Fender is the part of an automobile that frames a wheel well. The primary function of a fender is preventing sand, mud, rocks, liquid and other road spray being thrown away from the rotating wheel.
Data given for Designing Fender

Designing
Drip Area
It is the most important mounting unit of a fender. It is connected with the engine compartment and therefore a lot of design constraints are to be followed while designing the drip area. should have sufficient clearance from the front and rear end of the fender to accommodate the Cowl mounting region and the Headlamp housing.

Bumper mount
The bumper is attached to the front fender. It absorbs the impact force during the crash, and it always should be separate from the fender so it can be easily replaceable.

A-pillar mount
A-pillar mounting is created to join the fender and A-pillar.

Sill mount area
The sill is basically the bottom side of the BIW, and it is joint to the fender.

Baffle and Splash mount
The bumper is attached to the front fender. It absorbs the impact force during the crash, and it always should be separate from the fender so it can be easily replaceable.

Fender Body

Conclusion:
Fender design is created with the Drip, Bumper, A-pillar, Sill, and Baffle mountings to assemble to the main BIW body of the car.
