Fender Design
FRONT FENDER DESIGN
Fender is the side covering above the wheel of the automobile. It protects the engine compartment from mud, stones and gravel that the tyre will throw out when rolling on the road. Front fender plays a role in the asthetics, protection of engine compartment, protection of pedestrians and finally also protects the passenger/driver in frontal crashes.
DRIP AREA OF THE FRONT FENDER
The drip area of the fender is the part of the fender that is closest to the engine compartment and Hood. It has important as it is the main fastening to the BIW(the A-pillar, Sill are quite weak Connections). The Mounting area of the drip area has quite a few design considerations such as view obstruction, Blanking inclination angle, Spring back effect. Also the drip area mounting is connected to another Bracket which functions as a double layer protection against crashes. There is a empty area in between which makes collapsing the part and load dispersal possible in crash. All the given Considerstions have been put in place for the design. Also, the tool workability must be taken into considerstion.

CONCLUSION
The fender has been designed according to the given specifications. Especially the drip area part. Many aspects of the design are unclear as this is a stand-alone part. However, it has all the mountings necessary for a fender. Hence, This Mounting design in fender is sucessful.
