Fender Design

Introduction

Fender is a front outerside member of a car, which covers the wheel side.Fender is the american english term for the part of an automobile, motorcycle or other vehicle body that frames a wheel well. Its primary purpose is to prevent sand, mud, rocks, liquids, and other road spray from being thrown into the air by the rotating tire. Fenders are typically rigid and can be damaged by contact with the road surface.Early automobile fenders set over the wheels to prevent mud, sand and dust being thrown on to the body and the occupants.

The fender's openings for the wheel wells tend to be much larger than the diameter of the tire, because they do not move with the tire suspension and consequently must be large enough to allow the full range of tire motion on the suspension without touching the interior of the wheel well.

Fender has two types

  1. Full bumber type fender
  2. Half bumber type fender

Full bumber type fender

Basically this type of fender was manufactured in past years when the automobile industry was started. After that we designed half bumber type fender for redusing the cost and material waste. Here I attach some images of full bumber type fender.

Half bumber type fender

This type of fender is designed and manufactured for redusing the cost of the production and wastage of material.Nowadays the half bumber type fender is used widely. Here I attached some images of half bumber type fender.
