Design of backdoor

AIM:

To Use the provided styling surface to come up with a rear door design, use appropriate design methodologies, and provide the necessary reinforcements and embosses.

|TAIL GATE DESIGN|

Tail gate is the swinging commodity in which first it is designed based on the hinge axis and the latch and striker mechanism

Then the design level is done on the trajectry to decide the motion of the tail gate.

Then the design level is done based on styling of the master section which is placed on ceiling

Tail gate take the responsibilty of the rear visibiltity and the laguage area.

For the lugauge of the tail gate more thinner the master section more space for the lugauge area,in order to design so it need some space and as well as ti need good strength,Therefore it given with triangular shape.

For more strength it designed with embosses of inner panel,

Generally the Tail gate designed with inner panel ,outer panel and with reinforcement.

Latch and striker mechanisium is the small part, which design can carried out to another design,therefore this part is produced at many numbers.

|HINGE REINFORCEMENT|

As name suggest it designed for fixing to the hinge at the rear ceiling to the tail gate, it designed with the embosses with appropriate dimensions of the rear ceiling.

|WIPER MOTOR REINFORCEMENT|

This reinforcement is used to fixing the wiper motor which is siutuated at the center of the inner panel.It is designed in a such way that it embosses placed on the inner panel perfectly.

|GAS STAY REINFORCEMENT|

Gas stay reinforcement is placed in such a way that it fix on the embosses of the chassis of the car.

|DRAFT ANALYSIS|

At the center of tail gate the draft angle is actaully zero and it goes on increasing from the left hand side and right side of the tail gate which is 5 degree.

RESULT:

Finally the tail gate assembly is designed with inner panel,outer panel and with reinforcement namely, gas stay reinforcement,hinge reinforcement, wiper motor reinforcement,and latch and striker reinforcement.

And Draft analysis is performed.
