Aim:- To develop the car backdoor with the reference of given skin data as per engineering standard by using Catia V5.

Introduction:-Backdoor is closer component that are used to cover back area of the car. it is typically hinghed, but sometimes attached by other mechanism such as tracks, in front of an opening which is used for entering and existing a vehicle.

A vehicle door can be opened to provide access to the opening or closed to secure it. These doors can be opened manually or powered electronically. Powered door are usually found on minivans, hingh end car or modified cars.

Types Of Backdoor:- There are following types of backdoor-

  1. Top Mounted
  2. Side Mounted
  3. Bootom Mounted

Design Consideration:-

  • Visibility Criteria
  • Latch and stricker Position
  • Hingh Position
  • Gas Stay Position
  • Space Availability
  • Drain Holes
  • Hemming and Relief area.

Components Of Backdoor:- There are following components of backdoor-

  1. Inner Panel
  2. Outer Panel
  3. Hingh Reinforcement
  4. Latch & Stricker Reinforcement
  5. Gas Stay Reinforcement
  6. Wiper Motor Reinforcement

Force Distribustion:-When the car hited at rear end, the force which acted should be react outside. The Y emboss which is helps to more the force to the outer end.

Hemming:-

Corner Relief:-

Draft Analysis:-Draft Analysis is a method of checking the draft angle on various faces of a part in a particular direction. It should be more than 7 degree. Draft analysis command which lets you know if your model or design has a draft angle in a given tool direction.

If the part lies within the condition it shows in green colour if not shown in blue or red colour.
