Radar Mast & Final Assembly of Yacht

Title of the Project :-Design Of Yachat using Solidworks

Objective:- To design the yachat along with its each parts and assemble them and then creat rendered images.

Introduction:- A yachat is a watercraft used for pleasure , cruising or sports. Todays, Yachat are mostly used for leisure. Untile the 1950s almost all yachats were made of woods or steel but a much wider range of materials is used today.. Althrough wood hull are still in production , the most comman construction material is fiberglass, followed by aluminium, steel, carbon fiber.

In recent year , these yachat have envolved from fairly simple vessels with basis accommodation into sophisticated and luxusious boats. This is largerly due to reduced hull building costs broughts about by the introduction of fiberglass hull and incresed autonation and production line techniques for yachat building. Most basic yachat have electric lighting , radio and navigation aids such as GPS aids such as radar, each sounding and atopilot are comman.

Hull:- A hull is the watertght body of a ship as boat. The hull may open at top or it may be fully or partially covered with deck. A top the deck may be a dckhouse and other superstructure. The hull shap is chosen to strike a balance between cost, hydrostatic consideration, hydrodynamic and considerations fo ship role. The hull designing required precise curvature during the sketching stage to avoid any bad geometry from showing up in the modeling stage.

following commands are use during modelling hull-

  • Sketch
  • Offset Entities
  • Projected Curve
  • Lofted Surface
  • Trim Surface
  • Extruded Surface
  • Knit Surface
  • Filled Surface
  • Shell
  • Extruded Cut
  • Extruded Boss
  • Fillet
  • Chamfer
  • Sweept Boss
  • Revolved Boss
  • Dome
  • Helix/Spiral
  • Linear Pattern
  • Delete Face
  • 3D Sketch
  • Mirror
  • Split body
  • Split Line
  • Offset Surface

Superstructure:- The Superstructure is an upward extension of an existing structure above hull.it consists of the parts of the ship or yacht that project above her main duck. It encloses the cabin and a living area of the yacht. It was designed after imparting the deck surface at the hull as interface surface . Its designing required precise curvature during the sketching stage to avoid any bad geometry from showing up in the modeling stage.

following tools are use during modelling superstructure-

  • Sketch
  • Offset Entities
  • convert Entities
  • Extruded Surface
  • Swept Surface
  • Knit Surface
  • Fillet
  • Rulled Surface
  • Trim Surface
  • Projected Curve
  • Loft Surface
  • Filled Surface
  • 3D Sketch
  • Extend Surface
  • Delete Face
  • Extruded boss
  • Extruded Cut
  • Offset Surface
  • Thickeen Surface
  • Dome
  • Swept Boss
  • Split Line
  • Mirror

Propeller:-A propeller is a type of fan that transmitts power by converting rotational motion into thrust. A pressure difference is produced between the forward and rear Surface of the airfoil shaped blades and a fluid is acccelerated by the pressure differance. Most marine propellers are screw propellers with hellical blades rotating around an approximately horizontal axis or propeller shaft.

following tools are use during modelling propeller-

  • Sketch
  • Revolved Boss
  • Lofted Boss
  • Fillet
  • Extruded Cut
  • Circular Pattern

Front Seat:-The front seat was placed in front of the superstructure on the hull.It was designed after importing the deck Surface of the hull as interface Surface. following tools are used during modelling front seat-

  • Sketch
  • Offset Entities
  • Extruded Surface
  • Trim Surface
  • Filled Surface
  • Lofted Surface
  • Knit Surface
  • Chamfer
  • Revolved Boss
  • Revolved Cut
  • Mirror
  • Dome
  • Fillet

Middle Seat:-The middle seat was placed in the shaded are closely behind the superstructure backdoor. Unlike the front and rear seat, the middle seat was designd using solid modelling command. It was designed after importing the deck surface of the hull interfaces surface. following commands are used during modelling middle seat-

  • Sketch
  • Extruded Boss
  • Chamfer
  • Fillet
  • Mirror
  • Extruded Cut

Rear Seat:- The rear seat was placed over the garage behind the superstructure. It was designed after importing the deck Surface of the hull as interface Surface. Following tools are used during modelling rear seat-

  • Sketch
  • Sweep Surface
  • Offset Surface
  • Trim Surface
  • Rulled Surface
  • Knit Surface
  • Extend Surface
  • Loft Surface
  • Extruded Surface
  • Extruded Boss
  • Extruded Cut
  • Chamfer
  • Sweep Boss
  • Mirror
  • Revolved Boss

Radar:-Radar is used to detect other ship and land obstacles to provide bearing and distance for collision avoidance and navigation at sea. They are electronic navigation instruments that use a rotating antenna to sweep a beam of microwwaves around the water. Surface surrounding the ship to the horizon, detecting targets by microwave reflected from them generating a picture of the ship's surroundings on a display screen. A radar has a flat antenna that spins, emitting a signal, then listening back for that signal. The return signal bounces back at varying tomes based on what it may bouncing off. following tools are used during modelling radar-

  • Sketch
  • Offset Entities
  • Convert Entities
  • Extruded Boss
  • Fillet
  • Extruded Cut
  • Sketch driven pattern
  • Mirror
  • Split line

Radarmast:-The radarmast support the radar, antenna, satellite and lights. it was designed after importing the top Surface of the superstructure as interface Surface. following tools are used during modelling radarmast-

  • Sketch
  • Offset Entities
  • Extruded Boss
  • Fillet
  • Revolved Boss
  • Swept Boss
  • Mirror
  • Projected Curve
  • Chamfer
  • Dome
  • Shell

Garage Door:-The garage door body was split from the hull and imported separately for modelling. The garage door was mated with the hull garage during the assembly. following commands are used during modelling garage door-

  • Sketch
  • Extruded Cut
  • Shell
  • Fillet
  • Mirror

Assembly:-Assembly the parts of the yacht using relations and standard mates. Plane orientation wascare of while performing the mating since the interface surface was used in designing some of the parts. No specific mates required in such cases.

Rendering:-Rendering is the process of creating realistic image of the photorealistic model with the environment. Rendering has done in two way-

  1. Photoview 360
  2. Solidwork visualize

I have laptop hangging problem thats why i dont submite more Rendering image. Please consider it.
