INTRODUCTION:-

The trunk (north american english),boot(british english), dickey(india english)or compartant (south east asia) of a car is the vehicle main storage .

The trunck or compartmant is most offen located at the rear of the vehicle.early design include an exterior rack mounted on rear of the vehicleto which it was possible to attach a rear luggage trunk,later design integrated the storage area into the vehicle body

some mid -engined or electric car have luggage compartments both in the front and rear of the vehicle ., tesla calls their front trunk a frunk ,the mid engined also has two has two storage compartments ,although the rear one is small , easily accessible, and partially cuboid in shape.

rear engined cars have the trunk suituated in front of the passanger compartment.

DOOR OPENING

The door or opening of a cargo area may be hinged at the bottom , side , top.

if the door is hinged at the bottom , its termed a tailgate perticularyin the US.they are used on some sports utility vehicle .tradition drop down station wagon and pickup tailgates can also serve as for a workbench.

two way station wagon tailgates may be hinged at the side and bottom so they can be opened side way like a regular door or downloads as load platform extenders . they are designed in the selected direction on special hinges after the window is lowered.

a three way that was also used by ford allows the tailgates to be opened like a door with the window up.

LOCKS

The locking of the trunk may be achived together with the passanger compartment.

• some cars includes a function to remotely open the trunk. this may be achieved through a variety of means;
• release of latch whereby the doorseals push the decklid away from the lock, the trunk is then open, and the lid may not have revealed the opening
• release of the latch whereby a spring pushes the decklid away from the lock and open the trunk is then open, and the lid reveals the opening.
• release of latch and actuation of a drive, whether hydraulic, or electric, which pushes the decklid away from the lock; the trunk is then open, and the lid reveals the opening this may be electrically closed again

DESIGN PARAMETER

emboss: it is not only give a design and also gives structural strenght ,and areas hold ability .

cutouts :its not just a cut out over its a structure to hold inner and outer panal by mastic sealents

the outer and inner panel are by hemming

hemming :hemming is a u shapes bend between inner and outer panel

.

tracjectory circle:circle is one were the latch hooks are made to adjust in inner panel it desides the locking point in back door .

conclusion :

this point need to be considered for beterment of the structure.
