Design of backdoor

Backdoor is generally constructed with stamping of aluminum or stain less steel sheet of thickness 0.75(min) is used. The backdoor is usually made with multiple selections of materials depending on the budgeting constraints of the vehicle. Steel is the most commonly used material, while aluminum though lighter has a higher cost hence used primarily in premium cars.

Inner panel should accommodate provision of hinge reinforcement, reinforcements at the corners, viper motor area, Gas stay reinforcement, latch and striker reinforcement and viper motor reinforcement.

Gas stay Reinforcement:

A emboss is provided for the gas stay mounts.through which gas stay is mounted with the help of weld nut from inside the emboss.
