Creating Levels, Grids, Layout and model elements for a residential unit using REVIT
Aim & introduction : - My aim is to create levels, grids, place wall elements as per size, show the model elements, know the concept of building information model, its uses, how the model is compared with engineering feilds like mep to avoid clashes to execute the building in proper way & to reduce cost implications. In this challenge i have used the command units, save the project, setting up project information in manage tab, move, fillet, editting dimension size, save views, purge unused components & elements, place the families using insert tab like door, windows chair, bed, table couch, lamps from libraury under different categories.
1) BIM is building information model or building information management. It is highly collaborative process that allows architects, engineers, real estateDdevelopers, contractors, manufacturers & other professionals to plan design & construct the structure or building within one 3D model. It is a visual representation of the physical & fuctional charecteristics of a facility from inception onwards. It serves as a shared repository for collaboratoion through out facility's life cycle.
Benifits of using BIM over 2d CAD tools:- After setting of levels & while make plan in revit architecture 3D model is created but autocad 2d we have to make bounderies & extrude or press pull them & make union. So it is time taking job. Bim improves onsite collaboration & communication. We can do model based cost estimation. Visualise projects in preconstruction. Better cordination & clash detection. Mitigate risk & reduce cost. Increased productivity with prefabrication. Easy acess to information. Making the process more expressive. Comprehensive view of the project. We can do resource, material tracking.
2) Draw braw basic 200mm basic generic wall in tab architecture, wall as per size 35'x40' & make rooms by using offset command. Now click on modify tab, click fillet & remove wall not wanted to keep.
3) Click on architecture then click on door, load door family, edit height, width & insert all doors as per location. Click on architecture then click on window, load window family, edit sill height, width & height of window & insert all doors as per location.
4) Open architecture templete & set units to feets. Go east elevation set height for 10'. For 1st floorclick on architechture tab click on level give height of 10' & bring cursor from left from 1st floor line & rename it second floor ,in sameway do for terrace floor. Go to architecture click on grid draw horizontally & give offset distance of 10' & click 1st grid to second to third & so on & name & denote them as A,B,C, D, E. In same way draw verticle line using grid option giving ofset of 10' ane to another & rename as !,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,10.
5) Click on the anotate tab, click on llinear for horizontal dimension click corner of wall & drag to give dimension & aligned for verticle dimension.
6) Click on the componentthe place component load families, search for desired component at different location as per your interior planning.
