Creating Levels, Grids, Layout and model elements for a residential unit using REVIT

BIM:- BIM is a visual representation of the physical and functional characteistics of a facility from inception onwards. as such, it serves as shared information repository for collaboration throughout a facility's life cycle.

Features of BIM:-

1) Easy access to information

2) Making the process more expressive.

3) Comprehensive view of the project.

BIM allows us to work in 5D including time and cost.

Ans:-

Aim:- To understand the concept of ctegories,families,elements,instances in revit.

Procedure:-

After opening the existing REVIT model go to insert and load family

(or)

Select an object (for example DOOR) then press enter and the click on component and go to place component.

Ex:- i created my own layout and i need to insert the doors and windows so i need to mselect the door and then load family an then US and door category and then double clicking on it (ex:- residential) and then enter pick the suitable door and then open and then enter select size and then over write existing version and then place the selected door at suitable place.

Similarly follow the procedure for window and any other elements you want to place in your REVIT model.

Resut:- I created the doors and windows for my model by using CAtegory,family,element,instance.

Ans:-

Aim:-

To create maximum 3 backups in REVIT>

Procedure:-

file enter and then save as filey suitable name and then enter into manage tab and go to project info and edited it.

For the backups FIle and then save as and then project and then options and max. back ups (1-99) click ok and save it.

Result:- Fially i got saved and edited the project details, and set the no.of backups.

Ans:-

Aim:- to understand the concept of lvels and grids.and follow the naming andconventions,create the following levels.

Procedure:- only in elevation we can get levels.

Architecture then go to level and select pick line and then add distance then click on exsting level and select the existing one again. Edit the required names by right clicking on it.

Similariy in the architectural template there is an option called grids by selecting it by choosing line or pik line and edit the data as shown by both longitudinal and tranverse directions by right clicking on it.

esult:- finally we got the levels and grids by using REVIT>

Ans:-

Aim:- TO create the layout by using REVIT as our own.

Procedure:- By selectng the type of wall and load type for inserting required elements lie doors and windows i created a layout.

Resut:- Finally i created a layout by using Revit.

Ans:-

Aim:-

To create dimensions for the layout.

Procedure:-

Annotate and then go to linear and then pick corner of the wall from one to other.

similarly Annotate and then go to Align and then pik corner odf walls from one to other.

We can choose any one of above procedures.

Result:- Finally we got the dimensions by using revit.

Aim:-

To insert the residential models from the library.

Procedure:-

Architecture and then components and go to phase of components and then family and go to furniture and then beds and then select bed and open it and choose the furniture from the properties by selecting suitble sizes and place them in suitable location.

Similarly add all kind of materials from the properties template.

Result:- Finally we place some furniture in our model and saved it further Assignments.
