Creating Conceptual mass in REVIT and Creation of Sinusoidal curve and a Parametric stadium using Dynamo
1) Using Dynamo create a set of sinusoidal points and create a curve and create a surface out of the curve.
Procedure:
Step 1: we have to open a Dynamo working space
- Open the Revit Software
- Then, click in the Manage Tab
- Click on the Dynamo Icon
- Then Dynamo Screen Is open.

Step 2: To create sinusoidal points
- Create 3 Integer Slider and name it as Start, End, Step.
- Connect Start, End, Step Integer Slider to the Range: Start, End, Step
- Now create two Point By coordinates 1, 2
- Connect Range to the X Point By coordinates.
- Now Create a Math sin.
- Connect Range to the Math sin created.
- Now create a Code Block and
- Connect the Math sin to the x of the Product.

Step 3: To create lines connecyted to Curve.
- Create Two Nurbs Curve by Control Points.
- Connect Both Nurbs Curve by Control Points to the Points of coordinates

Step 4: To create the surface by Loft.
- Create a List and create a Surface by Loft from the search bar in the Dynamo
- Now In the List create two items item 0 and item 1.
- Now connect the List to the Nurbs Curve by Control Points.
- And at last Connect the List to the Surface by Loft.

Result:
A surface out of the curve is created.

2) Create a conceptual layout of floor plan in dynamo . Using the tools available in dynamo link the lines to appropriate model elements in Revit by choosing the wall types and wall parameters. Make use of the sliders to slide through the height of the wall and length of the wall.
Procedure:
Step 1: We have to open a Dynamo working space
- Then, click in the Manage Tab
- Click on the Dynamo Icon
- Then Dynamo Screen Is open.
Step 2: Now we have to create 4 points for making a wall.
- Create Two Integer Slider and name them as #1 and #2.
- Now create 4 Points by coordinates
- Connect #1 Integer Slider To the x of 1st Point Of Coordinates and y of 2nd Point of Coordinates.
- Repeat this with #2 Integer slider.
- You see Four points are Created.

Step 3: Now we have to connect the points with a line.
- Create four (Lines by Start Point End Point).
- Connect Point by coordinates to the start point and end point of Lines by Start Point End Point.
- Repeat this for Rest of Points of Coordinates.
- The lines are Created.

Step 4: Then we have to create the walls.
- Create List Create and expand it to Four items.

- Then Connect The 4 lines to the 4 items created
- Create Wall types, Levels, one Integer Slider(name integer slider as Height of wall) and Wall by Curves and Height.
- Wall types, Levels, Height of wall and Wall by Curves and Height further to the Wall by Curves and Height.
- The wall is created.

Step 5: We have to create a Floor.
- Create one (Floor Types) and one (Floor by Outlines and curves).
- Connect (Floor types, levels and Wall by Curves and Height) further with (Floor by outline and curves)

Result:
A conceptual layout of floor plan is Created.

3) Create an array of model elements in Revit. Use dynamo to vary the properties of model elements by using the slider or code block.
Procedure.
Step 1: We have to create columns in the rabbit software.
- Create four columns by using columns option in the Architectural tab.

Step 2: Now Open the Dynamo working space
- Then, click in the Manage Tab
- Click on the Dynamo Icon
- Then Dynamo Screen Is open.
Step 3: Rotating the Columns to 45 degree.
- Now create Select the Elements and Integer slider and one Set Rotation In the Dynamo.
- Now select all the columns from the Revit screen.
- In Integers slider Change the angle to 45.
- Connect the elements and integer slider to the rotation.

Result:
You see the columns are rotated to 45 degree in your Revit screen.

4) Create a conceptual mass in Revit and develop a parametric column by dividing the surfaces and apply the concepts similar to used in parametric walkway modelling. Use triangular bent or square shaped panels to add finish to the parametric column.
Procedure:
Step 1: First Open Conceptual Mass:
- Open Revit software.
- Click on New Then Click on Conceptual Mass.
- Then Click on Metric Mass and Open It.

Step 2: Creating a S shape spline Column:
- First create an Level From the elevation tab.
- Then To create a spline.
- Select Spline curve From the Menu Bar.
- Create 4 dots.

Step 3: Convert Spline to a solid form.
- Create an Individual Plane to the Points created by using Set Plane Option.
- Then select an Polygon and apply it to the Plane option from an height of 12’.
- After this, by pressing ctrl button Select the first polygon and the spline
- Then click on the Solid form.
Step 4: At last convert it to a Triangular bent.
- Select the solid form by using Filter Option.
- Then in the Property browser select the Triangular bent Option.

Result:
The triangular bent Spline column is created.

5) Use Dynamo to work on developing a Parametric Stadium. List your parameters and use the visual programming approach to complete the modelling, you can use the concepts discussed in parametric high rise tower in class for reference.
Step 1: Now Open the Dynamo working space
- Open the Revit Software
- Then, click in the Manage Tab
- Click on the Dynamo Icon
- Then Dynamo Screen Is open.
Step 2: Creating The Sliders and rename it
- Insert 2 Integer Slider and rename it as i.e., Levels, Height.
- Insert Code Block and provide code as “.#Levels..FloorHeight”
Step 3: Creating the height and levels by points
- Insert Coordinate system by Origin
- Connect the Code Block to the Z point of Coordinate system.
- Now change the Height and Levels in the Integer Slider.
- The Levels are created on the z axis

Step 4: Change the Height an Levels By Rectangle
- Insert 4 Integer Slider and name as i.e. Width, Length, , Top floor Rotation, Bottom floor Rotation.
- Insert “Rectangle by Width Length”
- Connect the width, length to the Rectangle’s width , length respectively.
- Now connect the Code block to the Rectangle’s Plane.
- The Levels and height is created.

Step 5: Providing the Rotation.
- Insert Code Block and provide the code as “Bottom..Top..#Levels”.
- Connect the code Block with Bottom floor Rotation, Top floor Rotation and Leve
- Insert the Point. Origin and Vector. Z axis and Geometry. Rotate.
- Connect the Code Block, “Rectangle.ByWidth,Length”, Point.Origin and Vector.ZAxis to the Geometry.rotate.

Step 5: Creating the Parametric Surface.
- Insert the “Poly Surface By Loft”
- At Last Connect The geometry rotate to it

Result:
The Parametric Surface Stadium is Created.
