Creating Architectural and Structural model with 3D rendering using REVIT
1) Select the type of structure you want to build from one of the three below:
a. Multi-Unit Residential Apartment
b. Office Buildings
c. School
From the above given options the type of structure i want to select is Muliti -unit Residential Apartement
2) Assume reasonable assumptions for geographic and location details for your project modeling. Based on assumptions and type of structure selected identify the modeling requirements from NBC
Here i choosed multiunit residential apartment
The geographical & location details for my project detailing is based on multi unit residential apartment
My residential building is nearest to the highway
The road width is 50'
The height ,area limitation & safety measures are followed by NBC 2005
The height of the project is 46'
The project height in meter is 14m & road width is 21.3m
The building height is not exceed ,so it is suitable for construction
3) Using the structural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected
a. Foundation – Isolated / Wall/Matt Foundation
b. Columns
c. Beams Connected to Columns
d. Roof Framing/ Truss
e. Floor / Decks
f. Floor Openings for Elevators and Stairs
AIM:
Using the structural model ,include the following components based on the type of structure selected like wall, doors, beam ,roof
Commands used
Architectural template
Structural template
Grids
Columns
Beams
Foundations
Stairs
Shafts
Floor
PROCEDURE:
Open an architectural template create a grids lines
Specify the coordinates as 0'0" for both horizontal & vertical grids

Now save the project & close the architectural template created
open a new structural template
Click the collabarate option under collabrate tab & save the project
Create the grids & specify the coordinates as 0'0" for both horizontal & vertical grids

Now open a new architectural template combine saved architectural & structural template usinh manage links under manage tab
Relocate the project
Now save the project & close

Horizontal & vertical grids are created ,foundation level,Ground floor level,First floor level,Second floor level,Third floor level
& Roof level where created

To insert isolated footing select foundation level, go to structural tab>isolated footing>at grids>select entire grids>tick mark
Now the isolated footing is created

Isolated footings are created
Isolated footings (also known as Pad or Spread footings) are commonly used for shallow foundations in order to carry and spread concentrated loads, caused for example by columns or pillars. Isolated footings can consist either of reinforced or non-reinforced material.
Now to insert the column select the ground level ,go to structure tab>column>vertical column>grids>select entire grids >tick mark
Now to columns are inserted
To insert the column upto third floor level ,select the entire grids
A column or pillar in architecture and structural engineering is a structural element that transmits, through compression, the weight of the structure above to other structural elements below. In other words, a column is a compression member.
To Extend column upto third floor, select the entire footing created, select the top level upto third floor & offset 0 &give apply
A beam is a horizontal member spanning an opening and carrying a load that may be a brick or stone wall above the opening, in which case the beam is often called a lintel
Select ground floor go to structural tab>Beam>at grids>select entire grids>tick mark
Beam of ground floor has been created ,repeat the same procedure for first floor, second floor, third floor

Now to create the floor select ground level>floor>rectangle>pick a boundary>tick mark
Now ground floor has been created
Now do the same for first, second & third floor

Opening for stairs or escaletor is created using soft option under architectural tab

RESULT:
Using structural template the given components are created & created as a central file using collabrate option

4) Using the architectural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected
a. Wall Layout with appropriate material and finishing
b. Exterior façade with fancy finish
c. Interior partition walls to size rooms
d. Components to add details to a room ( Desk, Chair, Lighting, Plumbing fixtures)
e. Add components such as stairs Elevators
f. Have at-least one side of the building with curtain walls and glass panels
g. Include interior and exterior lighting fixtures
h. Place proper topographic components from outside ( Trees, Parking, Plants) to add details to the model
AIM:
Using the architectural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected
PROCEDURE:
Open the Architectural template
Set the units
Click the elevation create the levels
Create a longitudnal & transverse grids
Include the columns in the grids created ,create the floor plan

RESULT:
Using Architectural model components like furniture, plants, lighting are added

5) Provide a set of drawings in an architectural and structural model to list the following details with categories and appropriate sheet templates included
a. Floor Plans with Annotations
b. Elevations
c. Sections
AIM:
Provide a set of drawings in an architectural and structural model to list the following details with categories and appropriate sheet templates included
PROCEDURE:
Commands used:
Insert
Sheet
Load image
Edit sheet
Open the view tab & insert the sheet
Edit the image to the required size, edit image size by changing the scale

RESULT:
Finally we create the sheets of strcutural & architectural model including Floor plan views, elevation views ,sectional views

6) Using the Rendering settings, Render images of the 3D model produced and include the rendered images to the drawing sheets
a. Rendering from interior rooms
b. Rendering from out showing topographic features
c. Rendering through structural framing
AIM:
Using the Rendering settings, Render images of the 3D model produced and include the rendered images to the drawing sheets
PROCEDURE:
commands used
Region
Render
Style
Scheme
Sheet
Go to 3D view ,set the camera at the portion where u want to render
Under the view tab click the render tool
The render dialog box appears ,click the region

Crop the image in region & click render option
Now the rendered image appears

RESULT:

7) Print the set of drawing sheets created and submit the drawings from the architecture and structure model
AIM:
Print the set of drawing sheets created and submit the drawings from the architecture and structure model
PROCEDURE:
Commands used
File
Printer
Setup page
Select plotter
Click view tab ,open file menu & print option
Print doialog box appear
Change the sheet settings that u need
Now click print & ok

RESULT:
Finally Printed the set of drawing sheets created and submit the drawings from the architecture and structure model
