Creating a Layout, Section and Elevation with dimensions using AutoCad

AIM: Create the Plan and Sections using proper dimension techniques and dimension styles to document the project.

Command used:

• Units coomand
• Line
• Offset

1) Figure :- 1st, 2nd & 3rd Floor plan

Procedure:

Steps:

• Use Units commad to set units to mm
• Use xline command to make grid line at x and y axis
• Now use line command to create the walls
  • Make a line of length 16448 Veritically
  • now a line of length 11735
  • All the external walls are of 230 mm thickness and internal walls are of 150mm thickness
  • Now create a bedroom of size 3300 x 2888 from the point of intersection
  • Next a bedroom of size 3175 x 3000 and a verandah below it of 1000 width
  • again a bedroom next to it os size 3100 x 3300
  • Create a toilet of size 1250 x 2150 and balcony below it
  • Create toilet of size 2275 x 1225 above the first bedroom created
  • Create a Drawing room/kitchen/dining of size 6600 x 2550/2563
  • Create a drawing /kitchen of size 4475 x 2863
  • Create a bedroom of size 3225 x 3050
  • Create Stairs just left to it
  • Create a bedroom of size 3225 x 3200 above the stairs area
  • Above the previous bedroom create a bedroom of size 3100 x 3100
  • Take an offset of 2550 and make an internal wall
  • From that wall create 2 toilets of size 1250 x 2400
  • Next to it create a bedroom of size 3000 x 3225
  • Below it create Drawing/ living room of size 4475 x 2950
  • Now use trim command to trim other lines
• Now use rec and hatch command to create column of dimension 230 x 150 and place the column wherever required
• Now create Doors of dimension
  • D - 1000 x 2100
  • D1 - 900 x 2100
  • D3 - 750 x 2100
• Create windows of dimension
  • W - 1000 x 1200
  • W1 - 900 x 1200
  • W2 - 1200 x 1200
  • W3 - 1500 x 1200
  • W4 - 600 x 600
• Now provide text and dimension as required

2) Figure: Section-AA

Procedure:

Steps:

• Use line commad to draw line of length 11000 mm vertically
• Draw external walls at an offset of 230 mm and internal walls of 150 mm
• No draw a Horzontal line of 9000mm length
• Offset the line at 2450 mm from ground level
• And offset 2850 mm 3 times for 1st, 2nd & 3rd
• Use rec and line command to create windows and doors
• Also use line command to draw stairs with dimensions
  • landing - 1200 mm
  • Tread - 250 mm
  • Riser - 143.75 mm
• Also use dashed lines for stairs
• Now use line and offset command to draw slab
• Now draw the other objects like parapet wall,O.H.T. at the top of the building
• Use leader and text command to give the text
• Give proper dimensions

3) Figure: Section-BB

Procedure:

Steps:

• Use line command to draw line of length 12000 mm vertically and 16448 mm horizontally
• Use offset command and take 2450 mm offset and then 3 offsets of 2850 mm
• Also take an offset of 1000 mm for parapet wall
• For Vertical offsets take dimension of the rooms (3225,2950,3050,2863,2150,1150)
• use rec and line command to make the windows
• Also use line command to make the slab
• Use line command to make the balcony
• use leader and text command to give the text
• Give proper dimension required
