Automotive Benchmarking Report

Benchmarking is the process of comparision of similar products on some dimensions of performance. (or) It is a process of analizing the choices of similar products based on the selection factor and deducting it to final conclusion.

CASE:

Mr. D.s. Pughazhayendhii is a married man who lives in Banglore which is a highly crowded city. his family comprises five members including his wife, five years old boy, his father and his mother. He vists his native place Madurai which is 500 kms away from Banglore once in a month. Also he will be using his car to commute to his office. His budget falls between 8 to 10 lakhs on road. Please suggest to him with options so tht he will buy a good car for his family.

Note:Pughazhyendii is fond of big cars.

• The number of persons are five including a child, so the vehicle should be more spacious for comfortable journey.
• He uses his car for Daily office commute and also to go his native place atleast once in a month.this would give a total estimate of more than 2000km/month 
• The budget is from 8-10 lakhs and he is also interested in big cars.
• Based on his interests the suggestion would be SUV vehicle is best for travelling.
• In Banglore city based on the traffic conditions Automatic Gear Transmission would be the best, but due to budget constraints Manual Transmission also can be preferable.
• Because of long run of the car Diesel variant is a better choice, because of low maintenance and for better mileage and also to save the cost of fuel.

Comparision Parameters of the Car Models

Based on Performance:

• Tata Nexon has linear power delivery system and has better Engine power.
• Mahindra XUV and Ford EcoSport are front runners but TataNexan offers much stable performance on the city traffic and highway with multi drive modes.

INTERIOR:

• Mahindra XUV has a better plastic interior trin=m quality and dual tone variantof Hyundai venue and material looks better where as the quality of XM varient Nexon is not superior compared to other models.
• Nexon infotonement touchscreen has super performance compared to Ford Ecosport and HyundaiVenue.
• Tata Nexon is best amoung the group because of its spacious cabin interior with more leg room for the back side sitting passengers and suits best for family trips.

EXTERIOR:

• The Facelift, Headlight and Tail lights are stylish in Nexon compared to others.
• Tata Nexon has Bootspace of 350 litres just lesser then Ecosport but Nexon provide better ground clearance of 209mm, which is suited for Indian Roads.

SEAFTY:

• Almost all the models has same safety features of dual Airbags.
• Tata Nexon is the first Indian model to receive 5star NCAP ratingfor its safety and crash test.

CONCLUSION:

                         Thus after all the detailed Benchmarking of car models I suggested to Mr.Pughazhyendii Tata Nexon will be best for him.
