Benchmarking

Aim:

To suggest Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii buy a good car that meets all his objectives.

Objectives:

  • The car should be at least 5 seaters.
  • It should be suitable for long drives.
  • It should be ideal for daily use.
  • Its cost should be between 8-10 lakhs.

Benchmarking:

Benchmarking is the process of contrasting corporate procedures and performance indicators with industry standards and other businesses' best - practices. The three main metrics are quality, time, and cost.

Purchasing a car is a significant decision that might be complicated by the market's abundance of models from various OEMs. However, if we work through a procedure step-by-step, the task may get a little simpler.

First, we must choose between a petrol and a diesel variant. Here are each's benefits and drawbacks:

Pricing: The price of a car is more for the diesel variant than the petrol variant.

Mileage: A diesel vehicle has higher mileage than a petrol vehicle. Diesel is also less expensive than petrol. However, because a diesel automobile is more expensive at first than a petrol one, it will take longer to recoup these additional costs. Before choosing a choice, one should consider all of these variables.

Maintenance cost: Diesel cars require more maintenance than petrol cars do.

Driving Experience: Diesel engines have more torque and are more powerful than petrol engines. However, NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) levels for diesel engines are higher than for petrol engines.

Given the details above and Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii's criteria, I would suggest a car with a petrol engine because of its affordable pricing and simple maintenance requirements.

Due to the fact that Pughazhyendhi commutes to work daily by automobile and makes a monthly trip with his entire family to his 500-kilometer home, According to his preference for large automobiles and budget of between 8 and 10 lakhs on the road, I have chosen the four compact SUVs listed below for his convenient daily commute and regular outings.
