Assignment 1

Objective :- Geometry Cleanup & Mid-Surface Operation.

CASE-1

*Open and view the given model file.

* Mixed & By Comp :- it will show colour on edge

Wireframe Geometry :-

Visualization :- Visualization controls the display of the surfaces and surface edges.

Clear all the check boxes except the Free check box.

Free edges and make note of where they are. The free (red) edges show where there is incorrect connectivity or gaps.

Note the locations where there are closed loops of free edges, that probably have missing surfaces.

Select only the Non-manifold check box.Observe the non-manifold edges and make note of where they are.

Note the areas to be worked on :-

 A surface that overhangs a round corner.

 A missing surface.  An edge that has apparently been collapsed.

Delete the surface that overhangs the round corner :-

Geometry > Delete > Surfaces > delete entity

Yellow Line :- It means having extra surfaces.

Yellow line to green line; use toggle from geometry...

Mid Surface Creation

Geometry > Midsurface > auto extraction >surf > Extract

Meshing

2D > automesh > surfs > size baised > element size = 3 mm > mesh type = mixed > mesh

CASE-2

Mid Surface :- Geometry > Midsurface > auto extraction >surf > Extract

Meshing :-

2D > automesh > surfs > size baised > element size = 3 mm > mesh type = mixed > mesh

CASE-3

Mid Surface :- Geometry > Midsurface > auto extraction >surf > Extract

Meshing :-

2D > automesh > surfs > size baised > element size = 3 mm > mesh type = mixed > mesh

Note :- We can use all step by step process as mentioned in case 1; in case 2 & 3 only mid surface & mesh results are shown for the bracket is shown in this assingment.
