Assignment 7
Assignment 7
Objective :- Side Crash Analysis for Side Body of the CAR using HyperMesh Radioss.
- Check unit system and either follow [Mg mm s] or [Kg mm ms].

Here, the unit system is used in kg mm m s.
- Create appropriate interface ,friction 0.2 and recommended parameters.
The appropriate interface we use here is TYPE 7, which is recommended for crash test application, with friction 0.2.

- Make sure of no penetration and intersections.
No Penetration

No Intersection

- Create rigid wall with friction 0.1 as per referance model.

In above Image, we can see that rigid wall (cylinderical) is created with friction 0.1, dia. of cylinderical wall is 250mm.
Xm 2500 Ym 1010 Zm 800
Xm1 2500 Ym1 1010 Zm1 1500
- Compare the model weight with the referance model and use added masses to reach target weight 700kg while getting CG about the required range.

In above image we can see the yellow dot's, which indicates the mass added in the body also we can see in the model tree information for mass added detail.
In below two images, we can see that :-
With out Mass Added :- Total Computed Mass = 1.663076139E+02

With Mass Added :- Total Computed Mass = 1.678284139E+02

Initial velocity as shown in picture

Initial Velocity in X drs. = 2 mm/sec
Initial Velocity in Y drs. = 10 mm/sec
Use model checker to ensure good quality

As we do moder checker for the car body, it is showing updated and corrected.
- Timestep :0.5 to 0.1 microseconds.

- Run 80ms.

1. Displacement :- Displacement max. = 8.209e02 & min. = 0

2. Vonmises Stress :- max. = 5.549e-10 & min. = 0

3. Specific Energy :- max. = 9.202e-22 & min = 0

Fuel Tank Intrusion :-

Conlusion :-
Here, we can see that all the results are obtained by using Hypercrash/Hypermesh software. The results which is mentioned below, is able to get by using appropriate method for Side Crash Analysis for Side Body of the car.
1. Displacement :- Displacement max. = 8.209e02 & min. = 0
2. Vonmises Stress :- max. = 5.549e-10 & min. = 0
3. Specific Energy :- max. = 9.202e-22 & min = 0
