Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_7_ Metal bracket-II

BRACKET II

OBJECTIVE:

Design Bracket as per the drawing.

INTRODUCTION:

Designing a 3D model of a bracket with given 2D drawing using sheet metal workbench in NX-CAD.

DESIGN METHODOLOGY:

1. Create base flange:

2. Cutting the extra flange a per the cutlines:

3.Unbending:

4.Removing sharp corenrs:

5.Adding top cutline flange:

6.Again unbends and adding the additional features like holes and cutouts.

7.Adding a perpendicular flange inside the cutout.

8.Rebend and add gusset feature at the bends for strengthening:

TOOLS USED FOR DESIGN:

1.Contour Flange: used to create the flange using a curve.

2.Normal Cutout: Used to make perpendicular cutouts to surface on the sheetmetal.

3.Break Corners: Used to provide fillets.

4.Unbend: Used to flatten the bends on the sheetmetal.

5.Rebend: Bend to the previous structure.

6.Advanced flange: Adding a flange with complex profile.

7.Hole: Used to add normal holes.

8.Gusset: Adding gusset at the bend to make design robust.

SCREENSHOTS OF THE DESIGN:

CONCLUSION:

Bracket-II 3D design as per drawing has been created.
