Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_7_ Metal bracket-II
itle of the Project:
Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX
Objective:
To design a Sheet metal Metal bracket-II using Siemens NX CAD application
Introduction:
Sheet metal:
- Sheet metal is metal formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces. Sheet metal is one of the fundamental forms used in metal forming, and it can be cut and bent into a variety of shapes. The thickness depends upon the type of application.
- sheet metals are widely used because of their higher strength despite having low weight and its resistance to corrosion
NX CAD:
- Siemens NX software is a flexible and powerful integrated CAD TOOL that helps us deliver better products faster and more efficiently. NX delivers the next generation of design, simulation, and manufacturing solutions that enable companies to realize the value of the digital twin
Description (Features used while designing):
- Sketch: The profile that needs to be drawn for featuring is done in sketch command. It is a 2D representation
- Tab: It is a feature to create the base of sheet metal
- Normal Cut Out: It is a feature used to cut the sheet metal at the required profile normally
- Bend: It is used to bend the sheet metal at required positions
- Counter Flange: It is used to create flanges as per the required shape
- Breaking Corners: It is used to make round corners instead of sharp ones
- Unbend: It is used to unbend the bend profiles
- Holes: It is used to make holes on sheet metal
- Rebend : used ro rebend the unbended portions
- Advance Flange: Used create flanges for the curved profiles(peofile should be smooth no sharp corners)
- Gusset: Used for strengthening of the sheet metal
- Flat Pattern: It is used to make the sheet metal into a flat pattern

Hello respected sir
i am using NX student version so in that i was not able to use advanced flange and flat patten not working i discussed with out TSE in O3 he told me that it is acceptable and u can submit it marks will not be deducted....
thank you sir
