Title: Design Of Bracket-2 Using NX Sheet Metal Application
Objective:
The objective of this project is to design bracket-2 model using NX Sheet Metal by using some of the commands in the NX software.
Introduction:
In automobiles,aerospace applications sheet metal is used.The commands used in this project are frequently used in sheet metal manufacturing industries like beads,flanges,holes etc,.In this project we have created and explained the procedure of creating Bracket 2 in NX using different features.
Design Methodlogy:
Description:
After completion of drawing this Bracket in Nx we will get familiar with user interface of the software and also we can learn some technicals of sheet metal.
Some of the features used in this are:
a)Normal Cutout:
The extrapart of the sheet metal is cutout using this command wherever it has to be trimmed.It cuts the part exactly perpendicular to the whatever surface we are going to cud.
b)Flange:
Flanges are the bent part of the base sheet metal which are also called as Web.By using this command we input the angle of the flange,height and draw a shape of it using sketch.
c)Break Corner:
It is nothing but filleting the sharp edges of the sheet metal.This will give a smooth profile at thhe corners which will improve the aesthetics as well as safety.
d)Screw Hole:
We can provie the mounting holes for the sheet using this command by using the standard library of screw holes available as per our requirement.
e)Gusset:
Gussets are the stiffeners that are used to strengthen the sheet metal which are added at the bend faces.It is done by punching a V shaped tool upon the sheet from the back side of the u shaped bend.
f)Advanced Flange:
It is slightly different front normal flange command.In this command we can create flanges of bended edges which is not possible in the previous command.And we need to remember that we can't draw any extra flanges from the edges of advanced flange.

Thus the design of Bracket-2 is done and 2D Drafting is completed by using NX Sheet Metal.
